Κ	Κωνσταντίνος Μπαρκούτσης on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Μετά από 9.5 χιλ. βατού χωματόδρομου φτάνουμε σε ένα ξέφωτο στα Γεράνεια Όρη σε υψόμετρο 1000 περίπου μέτρα όπου συναντούμε σε περιφραγμένο χώρο τον παλιό ναό πιθανολογείται του 11ου αιώνα ανακαινισμένο μετά από το σεισμό του 1981. Δίπλα στον παλαιό ναό υπάρχει και ο νέος ναός. After 9.5 km of dirt road we arrive at a clearing in the Gerania Mountains at an altitude of 1000 meters where we meet in a fenced area the old temple is presumed in the 11th century renovated after the earthquake of 1981. Next to the old temple there is the new temple.

M	Manolis Akoumianakis on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Η Παναγία του Πράθι Βρίσκεται μέσα στο δάσος των Γερανείων και είναι ένα από τα σημαντικότερα βυζαντινά κτίσματα της περιοχής. Στα χρόνια της ακμής του ήταν ένα πολυπληθές κοινοβιακό μοναστήρι. Βρίσκεται σε απόσταση 20χλμ. αριστερά του Λουτρακίου, σε ένα ειδυλλιακό υψίπεδο των Γερανείων (1.150 μ. υψόμετρο), κατάφυτο από πεύκα και έλατα. Κάποτε στεκόταν στην ίδια θέση ένα πλούσιο κοινοβιακό μοναστήρι με αξιόλογη δράση από τα βυζαντινά χρόνια έως το 1821. Από αυτό σώζονται σήμερα ερειπωμένα μερικά κελιά και αποθήκες, καθώς και το καθολικό, που ιδρύθηκε στις αρχές του 11ου αιώνα μ.Χ. Ήταν αφιερωμένο στην Παναγία Φανερωμένη, γνωστή με την προσωνυμία “Παναγία του Πραθιού”. Κυρίαρχο σημείο αναφοράς για το μοναστήρι είναι ασφαλώς οι επιμελημένες τοιχογραφίες του βυζαντινής τεχνοτροπίας, με θέματα παρμένα από τη Βίβλο. Στη δεξιά πύλη του ιερού διατηρείται μια πλάκα που αναφέρει το έτος 1466 για τις αγιογραφικές εργασίες του ναού. Λίγα μέτρα βορείως του παλαιού καθολικού κτίστηκε αργότερα μία δεύτερη εκκλησία αφιερωμένη στην Κοίμηση της Θεοτόκου, μια ιδιαίτερα φροντισμένη τρίκλιτη βασιλική με τρούλο. Σήμερα, ο ναός είναι κηρυγμένο ιστορικό διατηρητέο μνημείο, αλλά από το συγκρότημα της μονής, σώζεται μόνο το καθολικό. Το καθολικό ανήκει στην κατηγορία της μονόκλιτης βασιλικής με δίριχτη κεραμοσκεπή, μεταβυζαντινό κτίσμα σχετικά μικρών διαστάσεων και είχε υποστεί πάρα πολλές επεμβάσεις οι οποίες είχαν αλλοιώσει την αρχική του μορφή. Σε κάποια χρονική περίοδο χτίστηκαν στο εσωτερικό του δύο λιθόκτιστες κιονοστοιχίες, με αποτέλεσμα να δημιουργηθούν τρία κλίτη, τα οποία διαμόρφωσαν και τη στέγη του ναού. Επίσης, διατηρείται χτιστό τέμπλο το οποίο είναι νεότερη κατασκευή. Η Παναγία του Πραθίου γιορτάζει κάθε δεκαπενταύγουστο με διάφορες εκδηλώσεις και γιορτές. Panagia tou Prathi It is located in the forest of Geraneia and is one of the most important Byzantine buildings in the area. In its heyday it was a numerous convent. It is located at a distance of 20km. to the left of Loutraki, in an idyllic plateau of Geraneia (1,150 m. altitude), overgrown with pines and firs. Once stood in the same place a rich coenobitic monastery with remarkable activity from the Byzantine years until 1821. From this are preserved today some ruined cells and warehouses, as well as the katholikon, which was founded in the early 11th century AD. It was dedicated to Panagia Faneromeni, known by the nickname "Panagia tou Prathios". The dominant point of reference for the monastery is certainly the elaborate frescoes of the Byzantine style, with themes taken from the Bible. At the right gate of the sanctuary there is a plaque that mentions the year 1466 for the hagiographic works of the temple. A few meters north of the old katholikon, a second church dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was later built, a very well-kept three-aisled basilica with a dome. Today, the church is a declared historical monument, but of the monastery complex, only the katholikon survives. The katholikon belongs to the category of a single-aisled basilica with a gabled tiled roof, a post-Byzantine building of relatively small dimensions and had undergone many operations which had altered its original form. At some point in time, two stone-built colonnades were built inside, resulting in the creation of three aisles, which also formed the roof of the temple. Also, a built iconostasis is preserved, which is a newer construction. Our Lady of Prathio celebrates every August 15 with various events and celebrations.
