About us
Motive: noun / /ˈməʊtɪv/:
The word originates from the Latin word “motivus” and means motivation, to move forward.
Think of motiv as the reason that drives you to take action.
The reason that led us to create Motiv was our need to offer a completely new, daily experience around coffee in
the heart of Athens. After many years of experience in the coffee industry we
decided to gather our ideas and passion under one roof, where we can meet, share a cup of coffee, talk, laugh
and move on in our day.
Here you will find carefully selected specialty beans from around the world. Always freshly roasted and in a variety
of tasty characteristics, depending on the season, to enjoy your coffee inside or outside our store. You will also find
bags of 250g whole coffee beans roasted for espresso or filter, the necessary equipment, excellent herbs and tea,
small meals, snacks and sweets, cool soft drinks and selected beers of small production.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The best coffee I had on my two week trip to Greece, and very much up to the standards of the finest specialty coffee you can get in any other capital city (in my case London). The barista is friendly, knowledgeable and pulls some excellent shots. Pricing is good (and fantastic for the quality) at €1.40 for an espresso and €2.10 for a flat white. Nice seating out front, and glasses of iced water, replaced the moment they're empty. All round a very satisfying coffee experience and a godsend in a country of otherwise awful (thus far, and only in my own experience) coffee!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Exceptional coffee! By far the best filter coffee I've tasted so far in whole Greece! You can choose from V60, Chemex (maybe vacuum pot, not sure) and buy their coffee for really fair price to brew it yourself. As a coffee fan I can say that this place is definitely worth visiting. Moreover, there is an espresso bar right by the corner with their roasts. I had Papua new Guinea light roast and it was wonderful. Looking forward to tasting something from Kenya :)
P.S. They have amazing interior design! The logo is worth an award :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awesome little spot on the corner of a street packed with specialty coffee shops. We had an iced sprout milk latte and chocolate chunk cookie and both were wonderful. The staff was also super friendly and made us feel perfectly welcome as obvious tourists who don't speak Greek.
