★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Η Δημοτική Πινακοθήκη Δημητρίου Ναλμπάντη στεγάζεται στην πρώην οικία Βαφειάδη. Είναι μια αστική οικία του μεσοπολέμου που ξεκίνησε την λειτουργία της τον Μάιο του 2000 και εγκαινιάστηκε από τον Θεόδωρο και την Γιάννα Αγγελοπούλου. Το κτήριο παραχωρήθηκε στο ζωγράφο προκειμένου να στεγάσει έργα 30 ετών και τοιχογραφίες που είναι εμπνευσμένα από την ιστορία του βυζαντινού Διδυμοτείχου. Ο ζωγράφος γεννήθηκε στο Διδυμότειχο. Το 1987 του απονέμεται βραβείο από την UNICEF. Τα ΕΝΩΜΕΝΑ ΕΘΝΗ επιλέγουν το έργο του με θέμα: «Μνήμες» για να αναπαράγουν σε γραμματόσημο μια σειρά με θέμα «Ο κόσμος του 2000».Τα περισσότερα έργα του ανήκουν στο μαγικό ρεαλισμό. Υπάρχουν βέβαια επιρροές και από άλλα κινήματα της ζωγραφικής όπως από τον ιμπρεσιονισμό, εξπρεσιονισμό, avenge art κ.λ.π.
The Municipal Gallery of Dimitrios Nalbantis is housed in the former Vafiadis house. It is an urban house of the interwar period that started its operation in May 2000 and was inaugurated by Theodoros and Gianna Angelopoulou. The building was given to the painter in order to house 30 years of works and frescoes that are inspired by the history of the Byzantine Didymoteicho. The painter was born in Didymoteicho. In 1987 he was awarded the prize by UNICEF. UNITED NATIONS selects his work with the theme: "Memories" to reproduce on stamp a series on the theme "The world of 2000". Most of his works belong to the magical realism. There are of course influences from other movements of painting such as Impressionism, Expressionism, avenge art, etc.
