★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The tour was okay-ish. Our guide was leading a group of 4 quads, stopped at very nice (sunset) spots, and made sure we‘re not split by traffic. During breaks he made sure we catch nice photo-spots and was quite supportive in general!
That said, there were a few downsides:
First, the instructions were rather short and didn‘t take longer than a minute. Some basics were not explained. To be fair, we didn‘t ask for more details.
Secondly, right after the start we stopped by a gas station to fuel up our vehicles - with our own money! This was unexpected and hasn‘t been communicated before. Plus, we were asked to pay for the guide‘s fuel - red flag #1.
Thirdly, we spent roughly 95% of the overall ride on regular, partially busy roads. I would have expected a bit more offroad driving on an island. Also to be fair: we were offered a short offroad drifting opportunity which was great fun!
And finally, and I‘m not sure if that was an attempted rip-off or just lack of communication: our tour guide told us we have to pay for his vehicle as well. Red flag #2. We didn‘t accept that and ended up paying for our own vehicles + fuel only. There‘s little to no cost transparency!
All in all, you‘re probably better off renting a quad, looking up a few sunset spots on Google and have a hassle-free, enjoyable day! If you go with this tour, make sure to pay upfront and gas is included.
