Done the VIP day trip to shipwreck above and beyond. Was good but a long day too. Be prepared to spend all day. Tour guides friendly and the island itself is beautiful and has lots to offer.

Went to Kefalonia last Wednesday with Mia, what an amazing experience. Mia is a very friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming hostess. She explained precisely where to wait for ferry and kept reiterating how important it was for her that we all really enjoyed our trip and if there was any problems to go straight to her and she would do her best to sort it. She was very knowledgeable about the island and had a deep passion to share it with us, her stories about how places got there names kept us enthralled. The Melissano lakes and Drogatti caves where a complete fairy tale, the place she choose for lunch was enchanting and picturesque, the monastery that completely burnt down was delightful and good to see how repairs are progressing. Mia was more than happy to take photos and didn’t mind how many times you asked. What an enthralling day which will remain in the memory for ever.

I regret booking this. We booked this tour thinking it would be eco-friendly and respectful of the sea turtles, but it was far from it. The boat itself is much larger than advertised, with 50+ passengers on board. The crew spotted a turtle that was already surrounded by four other boats and proceeded to circle it with our boat that was 3 times the size. The animal was distressed with everyone approaching it every time it went out for air. It was animal abuse. The company claims to have volunteers on board from the turtle conservation association, however they did not try to prevent this from happening. When we asked a rep from Nefos Travel about it, he said there was a “fine balance between preserving the environment and the economy”. While I appreciate the actions from the other boats were completely out of their control, our boat should not have approached the animal with so much traffic around.

We booked 3 trips with Nefis, the first one to see the shipwreck and blue caves. Unfortunately the sea conditions meant we could not go to the blue caves. We had to travel to another port but the trip was nice and the scenery stunning and effort was made to go into some caves so all was not lost! We were the first on the shipwreck beach so had time and space to enjoy it. Our group was around 20 people, we saw the other boats come in with 50-100+ people so glad it was an early start. Although we didn't go to the blue caves we were very lucky to see a monk seal. It may be an idea that thev"swim stops" should say that they are off of the back of the boat into deep water and maybe the option to hire a noodle for the weaker swimmers would be good. The second trip was to see the turtles, we picked the Nefis company because they work with the local protection society. I was looking forward to having members on board explaining the work they do but for some reason they company guide gave the talk, thought she did a very good job. We saw 1 turtle and it was surrounded by private boats and larger tourist groups are boat only stayed for a few minutes before turning away , the other boats continued to follow the turtle, the fact we left the turtle truly shows Nefis puts the animals first. The final trip was last minute but we were lucky to get a cancellation. Back to the roots.....wow what a day. The guide was so friendly, informative and very enthusiastic. It was amazing to see parts of the island not accessible by coach. The crazy chickens are a sight to behold! The museum was interesting and "Mamas" cake was superb. Lunch in the taverna was second to none. Finally the olive oil tour was a real eye opener, I now appreciate why olive oil is a little more expensive. A fantastic trip to end our holiday on. Anyone looking to booked tours, look no further than Nefis Tours! Will definitely be recommending to family and friends travelling to Zakynthos!

Always fantastic service from Nefis. Great communication. And the tours are first class. Jackie and the team are very professional, but even more friendly. Makes you feel like your part of their family.

Went on the shipwreck tour,we were not informed that proper footwear is required when guided to the flag view point as your walking within a metre from a 150metre drop and certain death as it is very rugged terrain! Also wet clothes not allowed on bus if you want to swim at shipwreck bay, caves, which we would have liked to have done! As the waves were to big. The " speed boat was to small to beach so swim in only. The girl tour guild was amazing and knowledgeable which made it an enjoyable trip.6/10 experience.

My husband and I went on the Shipwreck tour. Our guide gave us interesting information about Zakynthos. He was funny and friendly. We were given helpful details about the schedule. We also liked the ride on the boat where you can see beautiful caves and impressive cliffs.

We did the back to roots tour on a wet Sunday but the weather didn't spoil the day because it was such a wonderful fun informative day. We saw places you would never find on your own and discovered the history of the island. I would thoroughly recommend it if visiting the island.
