Slowly cooked and straight from the farm to the table with a small stop over the low fires! Vegan options were available this time of the year like potatoes with chestnuts (amaaaazing), another vegetarian option was cruciferous vegetables (broco-cauli) with chòn-dh-ro. A type of Cretan pasta made with milk and wheat! Heavenly! But everything, the welcome, the amuse bouché (freshly baked +amazing+ whole grain bread with top olive oil) and a bio red house-wine. Make sure to visit this farm and eat REAL food that borders the definition of medicine!

The taverna was busy but there was no issues getting a table. We were met with very kind hospitality and were sat down eating some amazing local food with some very tasty local wine very shortly after. We opted to try a selection of what was recommended and available on the day, which came as a selection of 6 small plates including some of the best slow cooked lamb we had ever tried. A real memory and a fantastic experience. I would genuinely highly recommend. 2 beers 1 wine and 6 small plates came to roughly 45 euros. Well worth every cent!

We had a salad, which was the best yet, goat, beef and slow cooked greens as well, all so tasty and good. Also an incredible drive getting there from Samaria gorge and then back to our hotel. All food, plus wine and soft drink just €38. One also needs to stop them or else they just keep piling food on you.

Home made wine was great Goat was super soft and fell right off the bone Filled veggies (gemista) with nice herbs Snails with rosemary is the best and a typical Cretan dish Absolutely best restaurant on Kreta!

It's a very simple place, but you can see how everything is prepared with so much love and care that you can't feel the good energy of this place. And about the food, one of the best in life... and we still had the pleasure of being served by the owner himself, who is a dear, as well as his whole family that works there. True Cretan food.
