one of the most important street food shops in Chania (most probably in the country too). this is a 50 + year old gyros spot that has not changed it's product at all (allegedly, but it tastes accordingly). still serving at a way below average price a way above average tylihto (wrap), one of the best in Greece (in my humble opinion).

I see these one-star reviews and I am laughing. Those people can't tell the difference between a top-quality gyro and the worst quality meat that needs one kilo of ketchup so you can actually eat it. So my 5 five stars review is because of the quality of their product. It is true that the portion is small (still worth it for me). Furthermore the lack of potatoes is because the traditional gyros used to be without potatoes. And for me, this gyros doesn't need any potatoes. If you want potatoes (precooked plastic) and a big portion and you don't care about the quality of the gyros you gonna get then don't bother, try going somewhere else.

Iconic and genuine gyros pita. The owners are very friendly and the gyros was great.

The OG pita-gyro not only of Chaniá but maybe even of whole of Greece! When in Chaniá, I always return to this little oasis of the authentic Pitògheero. Yámas

Only take cash, the owner is actually quite blunt and rude. The souvlaki doesn’t come with chips and it was overall quite bland. I would say out of all the 4 gyros I had in Crete, this was the worst one

Hugely overrated. This is expected from tourists but I also read good reviews about it on a Greeks’ blog. The gyros is blunt, very lean (it should be a bit fatty) and not crispy at all. It is also cut incorrectly. Instead of having thin slices, you get large chunks of bluntness. Half of my pita didn’t have gyros. The overall taste was overpowered by the oregano. One of the worst pita gyros I have eaten in my life. I imagine that the whole hype is because the place looks old school and traditional. However I am seriously concerned about the hygiene. The guy was touching cash and food with the same hand without gloves. Ps: to all the tourists there, pita gyros is supposed to be cheap. 2,5-3€ is a normal price for a normal sized pita.

Original pork gyros place in Chania. Tasty and simple, finally that's what it's all about. Oldschool atmosphere, and both old men working are really gentle. Classic.
