★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The traditional olive oil museum was so good. He has such a great understanding of how people pressed the olives in the traditional way. A lovely traditional village. Enjoyed our couple of hours walking about.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A throughly enjoyable experience... thx largely to Stelios the local gift shop owner, come Olive Oil Museum guide
Stelios is welcoming, knowledgeable and has a genuine passion for the history of the 165yr old well-preserved mill, and his beautiful village... the mill has a number of small rooms in which the olives used to be crushed, pressed, and finally stored in large ceramic vases
Well worth getting off the beaten track for... and the little gift shop has some interesting trinkets

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great, authentic place. Built 200 years ago, last produce 80 years ago. Must visit.
A pleasant person with a good sense of humour showed us around. Besides us (two persons) there were no one else. However he opened the museum just for and gave a personal excursion.
Awesome experience, while travelling around Crete by car.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I first want to say that this is an absolutely authentic Cretian experience. If you are looking for the typical Greek tourist mills, or to arrive, party and leave, please avoid. Run by Stanley, the gentleman in the Lotus gift shop, he describes with passion the inner workings of a traditional olive oil mill preserved from the last century. There are no signs for you to read, or even any advertising. The life and work of generations past come from oral history, which you will listen to with complete fascination. My thanks for providing our family with insight into the life and history of a great people and country that we will carry with us, a true vacation experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Authentic place to learn about olive oil pressing, take a rest and buy some souvenirs. Wonderful quiet place in the mountains where you can learn about the traditional way of cold pressing olive oil on Crete. The owner of the corner shop shows you around and explains everything. Very friendly guy! He also introduced us to the owners of a more modern press down the road so we got a private tour there as well. Of course we bought some authentic cold pressed oil from them (not the centrifuge oil you get in other places). To complete the visit you should get a freshly squeezed orange juice or café frappé at the café next door. Perfect!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nicely preserved olive oil pressing facility. A very nice man explained everything to us and showed us the museum. He didn’t want to accept any money for the tour and didn’t even mention he’s shop but we knew it was he’s and bought something anyway.
