★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Every now and then, you walk into a place in the middle of nowhere, and you cannot say why, but you have a great feeling about the place. This restaurant leaves no room for guesswork--it is simply fabulous. The interior is meticulously decorated and updated in a warm, rustic style; the staff is competent, knowledgeable and friendly; the food is locally sourced and made from scratch; the flavors are complex and divine.
My kontosouvli got marinated so it was crispy on the outside and succulent on the inside, and incredibly tasty. The salad had thick chunks of cheese on it instead of using shavings that leave you wanting more. The homemade gnocchi were divine, as were the basil infused olive oil, and the parmesan flavored creme around the edge of the plate.
If you are anywhere in the region, make the detour. You won't regret it. Make reservations during high season, especially on weekends.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The grilled meats we had were excellent, not everyone is able to cook pork on the grill to perfection but this guy does it, both steak and skewers. Same goes for the chicken skewers and beef kebab. What really took the crown though was the gnocchi dish, it is a totally new definition of a gnocchi plate with amazing gravy and such a perfect mix of tastes that I couldn’t do it justice. You’ll just have to come and try for yourself!
