Η διαμονή μας στο κατάλυμα Οstria ήταν απολαυστική! Το διαμέρισμα ήταν πεντακάθαρο και δίπλα ακριβώς στη θάλασσα! Ο Λευτέρης ήταν πολύ φιλόξενος οικοδεσπότης και μας ξενάγησε σε όλη την περιοχή, δίνοντας μας τις καταλληλότερες συμβουλές για να εξερεύνησουμε τις ομορφιές του νότιου Ηρακλείου!

La piccola casa vicina alla spiaggia, leggermente rientrante e ai margini di un uliveto, ha come pregio di essere in una zona tranquillissima e di notte estremamente silenziosa. Internamente ha tutte le stanze che servono anche se gli spazi sono davvero limitati. Il pregio é che il proprietario é riuscito a far stare tutto ciò che serve, dalla cucina, alla lavatrice passando per il box doccia, strettissimo ma ben funzionante. L'entrata é stata trasformata in un salottino con divano e televisione. Il letto matrimoniale é comodo e dotato di zanzariera. C'è il WiFi e l'aria condizionata, sempre.nella camera da letto. Al nostro arrivo ci hanno accolto la nonna e la nipote del proprietario, entrambe molto gentili. All'esterno c'è un tavolino con qualche sedia dove, volendo, si può mangiare. Il prezzo é buono e se si vuole trascorrere una o più giornate in tranquillità questo é il posto giusto. Davvero a due passi c'è la spiaggia di ciottoli e ad 1 km il centro del piccolo paese di Keratocampos con qualche taverna e un alimentari.

A small apartment with a double bed, a single bed a kitchen and a bathroom with shower. The host managed to fit everything inside (there is even a washing machine. There is a beautiful porch to sit for lunch, breakfast, or just watch the kids play in the garten. The location is great as there are many beaches nearby with crystal clear waters (although most of them are rocky). The apartments are also remotely located, so it is really quiet and you can have a great view at night, as due to the lack of photopollution you can even see the milky way from the garten, in a moonless night. Although a little small for a family with two young kids (2 and 4 years old), it was great, as we spend most of the time outside of the apartment (and when needed to be inside, there were also airconditioning and window nets for the mosquitos and flies). All and all, we enjoyed the place and we are going to visit again!

For our vacation in this COVID-19 situation, we were looking for a place that is quiet, clean, far from busy tourism, near the beach, quiet beach, local food, less traffic on the street and safe. We are a married couple, from Munich, stayed in Ostria Apartment for 8 days and 8 nights. It was the last week of August 2020. This was the most pleasant vacation we ever had. We feel fully recovered after that. Lefteris is very hospitable. As a welcome present the host gave us homemade cookies in the jar. One morning we were surprised by finding fresh vegetables from Lefteris’ garden on the terrace table. They were very fleshly. Local food: 20-30 min walk to reach the first restaurant. We love the Taverna Nikitas and the Taverna Kriti. Their Greek Salad bowl is huge, careful before you order more food :) Dessert: Aeriko Cafe has the best waffle! Supermarket: there are 2 small supermarkets, my personal recommendation, the closest one, the prices are relatively cheaper and the owner is friendly. A bottle of 1,5 L drink water costs 50 cents. Beach: partly rocky, partly sand beach, go for a short walk to find your best preference. We like the Monompouka beach. The water is so clean and the seafloor is sandy. Air Conditioner (AC): we had a good nice room temperature with the AC: put it to 20 deg, low fan speed, and close the windows (we had outside temp around 31 - 33 deg. everyday) Overall, we enjoyed the place and would love to come again. Tips: Before you book the flights/airlines, please do some research in the news and social media, just to make sure you will get your return flight on schedule due to COVID-19 situation.

Absolutely beautiful place in between the olive trees. The beach is right in front of the door and it’s just calm and relaxed and good for the soul. Do explore the area, it’s stunning!
