As a man of faith, I could only say the history, hospitality and faith of the monks of today and the past exceeded the impact of the view. My prayers were answered. Bring yours and talk the monks about your faith.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A lovely place to visit for historical and spiritual reasons, Monastery of Panachrantou is located on a cliff of the mountain overlooking Chora. The view from here is amazing especially during sunset. The architecture is also something to look at as well. The monks will make you feel more than welcome with their treats.

Bumpy and hard road tho, like you’re going nowhere up on the mountain,
Access only by car, bike not recommended,
Also there is a beautiful square up on the road, even higher the mountain,
A hiking stop it seems, with running water around the square itself,
If you go by night watch not to hit any rabbit, or hedgehog, lots of wildlife at night on the mountain

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Scary drive up (and back down) to this huge,remote monastery at the top.
The monks, all four of them, were very friendly.
Incredible atmospheric place, with a beautiful Chapel at the centre.
Stepping through the entrance door, you feel like you're stepping back in time !
Views from the monastery walls are outstanding.
