★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Κάθε χρόνο 7 με 11 Σεπτεμβρίου, το μικρό αυτό άλσος σφίζει από ζωή. Έμποροι από όλες τις γωνιές της Ελλάδας (αλλά και από άλλες χώρες τα τελευταία χρόνια), έρχονται για να εκθέσουν τα εμπορεύματά τους. Τα εμπορικά περίπτερα διαθέτουν μεγάλη ποικιλία προϊόντων, κυρίως είδη ένδυσης, υπόδησης και χαλιά. Δεν λείπουν οι ταβέρνες στις οποίες οι σούβλες και τα μαγκάλια δεν σταματούν να ψήνουν. Οι οργανοπαίχτες με τους παραδοσιακούς ζουρνάδες περιφέρονται από ταβέρνα σε ταβέρνα σκορπώντας κέφι. Το πανηγύρι της Σκοτούσσας είναι από τα τελευταία του νομού Σερρών και σηματοδοτεί το τέλος του καλοκαιριού και την είσοδο του φθινοπώρου. Οι επισκέπτες είναι πάρα πολλοί, σε κάποιες περιπτώσεις ξεπέρασαν τους τριάντα χιλιάδες σε μια νύχτα. Να σημειώσουμε ότι το πανηγύρι ξεκίνησε από πολύ παλιά ως εμποροπανήγυρη προς τιμή του πολιούχου της Σκοτούσσας, Αγίου Γεωργίου, αλλά μεταφέρθηκε στις αρχές του φθινοπώρου, όταν είχαν πλέον σταματήσει τις αγροτικές ασχολίες τους οι κάτοικοι. Έτσι μπορούσαν να γιορτάσουν πιο άνετα και να κάνουν τις χειμωνιάτικες προμήθειές τους.
 Every year from September 7 to 11, this small grove is full of life. Merchants from all over Greece (but also from other countries in recent years) come to exhibit their goods. Commercial kiosks have a wide variety of products, mainly clothing, footwear and carpets. There is no lack of taverns in which the spit and the braziers do not stop baking. Organists with traditional zournades roam from tavern to tavern scattering fun. The festival of Skotoussa is one of the last in the prefecture of Serres and marks the end of summer and the beginning of autumn. The number of visitors is very high, in some cases exceeding thirty thousand in one night. It should be noted that the festival started a long time ago as a trade fair in honor of the patron saint of Skotoussa, Agios Georgios, but was moved to the beginning of autumn, when the residents had stopped their agricultural activities. So they could celebrate more comfortably and make their winter supplies.
