Pansion Platana - Glossa

In front of the sea, with the view of the photos that I attach. Very nice place near the center of Glossa. The owner very friendly and helpful.

Great pension. Very nice lady who has received us. The room has everything you need. Is clean and has a balcony with beautiful view to the sea. Air conditioning, fan and small kitchen with fridge, electric hob and kettle.

Friendly welcome from Eleni who was born in Australia but returned to Skopelos with her Greek parents. Eleni picked me up at Glossa-Loutraki ferry port. The guest house is located a 5-minute walk from the pretty village of Glossa. There are seven studios, all with a balcony, kitchenette, air conditioning and a private bathroom. Not big luxury but nicely decorated rooms. Good WiFi connection (free). Bottle of water on receipt and there were also some tea bags and instant coffee. In Glossa there is a bus stop (buses to Loutraki and Skopelos town), supermarkets, souvenir shops, bakeries, bars and restaurants. Two mountain bikes are also available for rent in the guest house. A very nice experience to stay here.

I booked one night to go to Mamma Mia church with my mum. The owner was n’t at Platana all the time but she was there for check-in / out and always answered emails very quickly. The room was clean and had amazing mountain view. It was about 10 mins by taxi from the ferry terminal and a bit out of the city center (but it ’s only 10 mins walk). I liked it because it was very quiet and peaceful. We walked to Mamma Mia cliff. Took us about 1 hour 30 mins. We left Platana about 7am so it wasn't too hot and the church was empty. Took taxi on the way back which was € 15 (heard last year was € 12) ). There is a supermarket within walking distance and we cooked dinner by ourselves. All the kitchen equipment was in the room. We stayed overnight to go to the church of Mamma Mia. The ferry and taxi reservation support and e-mail correspondence were very polite and kind. I could see the mountains from the room, and it was quiet at night and dawn, so I took a rest. About 10 minutes by taxi from the ferry terminal. Basically, it's not a meter, but a fixed amount. Depending on the customer, it may be quite rip-off. I asked the owner to make a reservation and asked me how much in advance, so I think I didn't have to pay too much. It took about 1 hour and 30 minutes to walk to the church of Mamma Mia. I was tired on the way back, so I took a taxi back to the inn in about 10-15 minutes. It was € 15, but it seems that it was € 12 last year. Since I left early in the morning, it was still cool and few people were there, and the church at the top was reserved. For dinner, we procured ingredients at a supermarket near the inn and made a simple dinner. I used an electric stove and a pot. I think it is recommended for customers who want to stay at home!

Very good contact with the owner, we were greeted by her mother, very friendly and accommodating! The room is quite old but the basics are there. OK for 1 or 2 nights but no more in my opinion. The town is a bit empty compared to Skopelos on the other side of the island, in October anyway.
