The service ranges from miserable to very poor.

Patras station is small and unobtrusive. Nevertheless, it is an important connection with Athens and Piraeus. There are no ticket machines, but there are old-fashioned ticket booths. There were stories on the Internet that the train had been canceled, but that is partly true. A bus runs to Kiato, then by train. Kiato is 1.5 hours' drive away. The bus drives through a beautiful part of Greece.

In the end, (this is in the "near" future), the train will be in a field !! Has anyone in charge seen the rails ??? He saw them and they are ok ?? He will be incompetent.

I arrived at Patras from Brindisi in Italy by ferry when I was travelling Europe by rail. Getting from the docks to the station was a doddle and the connecting train to Athens was waiting in the station. Everything went smoothly and I remember my trip fondly. If you ever find yourself in this neck of the woods be sure to visit, you won't be disappointed, well worth 5 stars.

I just share these timetable pictures with you cause employees won't do it. Station would be even ok in itself but nobody give you important information and you can miss the train waiting for it while some destinations are reached with bus. And there is even a Kalavrita-tour-pass that includes the train travel to Dakofto and attractions, that let you save a good amount of money. Naturally nobody will talk you about it: I paid for Kalavrita train tickets separately
