There is nobody in the whole island that can surpass Fanourakis traditional rusks (paksimadia in Greek). When you move to the southern part of Crete, stop in Agia Varvara when you see the only kiosk (periptero) of the village. Fanourakis is 5 meters away with the sign Φανουρακης and buy some rusks. See how to make a dakos on YouTube and enjoy one of the most authentic experiences of Crete.
