The MT Prudent Warrior, under our management, remains detained in Iranian territorial waters since 27 May 2022.
On 28 May 2022 the vessel was shifted to Bandar Abbas anchorage, where she is located until now.
The crew onboard communicate with their families almost on a daily basis and they are in good health and are treated well.
On 7 June 2022, the Greek Consul in Tehran flew to Bandar Abbas and visited the ship. She found the crew in good physical and mental health.
On 4 June 2022, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei posted in a social media platform that the confiscation of the Prudent Warrior was an action of retaliation for the seizure of crude oil cargo from an Iranian-flagged tanker in Greek waters in May 2022. We are deeply sceptical and worried that despite our efforts to provide world leading transportation services, having safety and our personnel’s wellbeing at the core of our operations, we have been innocent victims caught in the midst of political confrontations. We hope that the recent developments are the pathway to the release of our vessel and her crew.
Polembros Shipping is in constant cooperation and communication with concerned parties and authorities for subject incident. We are constantly in communication with the seafarers’ families in an attempt to support them through these terribly troubling times.
