I booked the private romantic candlelight dinner as a surprise for my fiancé to celebrate our engagement that day. It was not my first visit to Zante and we have eaten at almost every well reviewed restaurant on the island and lots of Michelin star restaurants all over the world. Ignore negative reviews, the food here is seriously good! Kostas was polite, professional and quick to respond to my detailed requests for our dinner. The decoration, custom menu, personal (exceptional) service from Anna, flowers, gifts and everything else were 5*. The sunset was stunning. There is no other private experience that I know of on Zante that compares to this. We enjoyed so much that we returned for another meal later in the week and will also be taking our children for a meal next week! Thank you Kostas, Anna and the whole team at Porta Del Mar.

Our host of the evening Anna did an amazing job making us feel welcome and have a romantic evening for just the two of us. Good food & wine combined with a perfect setting on the private terrace. The suites are very new and clean, modern but still cosy. This place is in front of the sea, there is a private beach and pool with infinity view. In the Gardens next to the pool they have a restaurant with Seaview. Compliments to the chef and the staff, the food was very fresh and tasty. We couldnt find any better restaurant so we almost eat everyday in the garden restaurant. Keep up the amazing work team porta del mar. We recommend you strongly. Thank you! Lotte and Kaj

A bit hesitant because we were just hoping that the 2nd time would not be disappointing compared to the amazing evening we had the first time. But it was just as great, if not even better! The place is just magical; the garden, the view, the food, everything! It has this super homey atmosphere but still a chique touch to it. You can tell that the owners spend a lot of time and care on the property and on all kinds of details like Spiegelau Glasses, Laguiole knives etc. The food is really good, they have a simple menu and daily specials, and everything we’ve tasted was delicious! The staff is very friendly and everyone actually seems to enjoy working there. The owner (his son) Kostas was a great host, and our waitress Anna was really nice and genuine. (Plus she takes great pictures of the guests and the view :) We are back in Amsterdam now and already checking to see if we could actually stay in their villa’s next time we come to Zakynthos!

They recommended dishes that we did not like at all other than poor in quantity. I work here in Zakynthos and had already tried this food, but it certainly doesn't taste like that elsewhere. A shame because the site itself is beautiful.

The prices are certainly higher than other places but the quality is outstanding so def worth it. 10/10 will be coming back again (probably within a few days :)

The service was fantastic, the gazebo was decorated with a happy birthday banner and the table was beautifully decorated. The staff were friendly and attentive and organised a special birthday cake which was delicious. The food was also great, perfectly cooked and presented. I would highly recommend you visiting!
