★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a great experience with the Porto Platanias Resort; staff was incredibly helpful, and the amenities were great. Thank you! The room was wonderful, clean, and the view from the balcony was amazing! Cannot leave without mentioning the variety of food and products at the breakfast buffet, everything looked so delicious and everyone could fulfill his tastes there. The location of the PP Resort is just perfect for in out of Chania city. I would just complain a little bit about the Spa prices, too much in my opinion and in our room there was just one electrical outlet, so we had to charge our phones one by one. Except these everything else was great. Highly recommended!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Staff is the biggest asset of this place. They look and work like one good team. Starting from cleaning service, through restaurant management- they are really doing a great job (Greetings for dining room staff- Elarefile!). Place is very clean, good food, room was cleaned every day. In general I do recommend the place. Beach is super close but..... it was very dirty. I’m not sure it belongs to the hotel or not but it definitely requires some cleaning- Burned cigarettes, straws, organic waste.... this should not be there. For my personal preferences it was a bit too loud. They have shows till 23:00, bar till 1am. If your room is close to it, you may find this difficult. But depends on your personality and purpose of your trip:)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing resort with very friendly staff. The food is good and the cocktails are freshly made. The small town around the hotel is cute and the hotel beach is great! We love it here! Special thank you to the amazing barkeeper Lampros who will always put a smile on your face! And to Anne who made my Birthday at the hotel extra special!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Disappointing Experience.
Big Resort 4 star hotel but isn’t good as we expect tbh. During the check in the staff was very rude . It takes to long and they don’t give us the necessary information about the hotel. However they had free parking that’s very good because the hotel is in the middle of “the strip” another negative observation is that in this pandemic days they are not following the Covid-19 regulations, unbelievable in the common area no one is wearing face mask, and also no one of the staff are checking if the people does or not, also in the buffet area no one is wearing face mask unbelievable in a indoor room, we think that this hotel isn’t safe !
We pay around 900$ for 6 nights and the room wasn’t good enough! In the toilet there’s no plug and the air conditioner is not working properly. The hotel in general is good but to expensive for what they give to the customers for example 2 coffee 7$

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Me and my boyfriend booked a stay at Porto Platanias Village, but when we arrived to that hotel it was under construction. Apparently we were supposed to stay at Porto Platanias Beach Resort & Spa instead. This information was NOT forwarded to me when I made the booking and therefor came as a surprise when we arrived at the hotel we originally booked.
Room:
We received a room at Beach & Resort in a long dark hallway where all the sounds echoed loudly. The front door (made out of wood) was NOT soundproof at all and there was a huge gap between the floor and the door. The same goes for the balcony door - you could hear EVERYTHING outside the door. Outside our balcony was one of the pool areas.
The bathroom was OK, not as good as you would think when staying at a 5* hotel. Room service was good and changed all the towels each day. The beds were a bit hard and was two 90x200 beds put together. Not very optimal.
Food & drinks:
We booked half board, which included a buffet both for breakfast and dinner. The breakfast buffet contained many different courses. The same goes for the dinner buffet, although most of the courses were the same throughout the week.
No drinks were included in the half board price and some of the prices were extremely high - €3.30 for 250ml Coca Cola and €2.70 for 1 liter tap water!
A big shoutout to the friendly staff in the restaurant.
Surroundings:
Overall the hotel was very clean and beautiful at night when the lights came on. Unfortuntately, every little sound echoed between the buildings (its a complex of separate buildings).
A few hours after me and my boyfriend checked into our room, two guys from the maintenance crew knocked on our door to "fix something in the sink". One of the guys was fixing the sink, but the other one was walking around in our room and looking into our personal belongings and valuables. We kicked them out of the room when we noticed, and when we confronted the staff in the lobby they said we had nothing to worry about and it was just a misunderstanding. Still something to think about while booking your stay here.
During our 4th day, a school (??) checked into the hotel and they made A LOT OF NOISE!! They were screaming and shouting until 11pm and then went quiet. Then we woke up at 2am with MORE shouting, screaming and laughing in the echoing corridors. It is still extremely noisy, and the hotel does not seem to care.
Overall - I would NOT recommend this hotel for anyone. Neither for a work trip, romantic getaway, family visit or with friends. Unfortunately we have not been able to relax on our vacation and I would not agree with this hotel being a 5*.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very bad hotel. They charge you for everything even when you booked an all inclusive stay in a suite. It's not all inclusive at all!! Service is very bad only when you pay you get good service. The food is very bad and cold. They serve the leftovers at lunch and dinner. It's a 3 *** hotel. I'm very happy to leave and stay in another hotel. I can't wait...
