★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Potirou is a traditional taverna in the centre of the truly traditional village of Damarionas, which is within walking distance of both Halki & Filoti. It is situated in a small shaded square and has plenty of seating both inside & outside.
A great place to visit for a quiet drink or a full meal. The food is not expensive and has always been of high quality. There is a good range of traditional dishes, local wine and Ice cold beer.
The owner and staff are always friendly and very welcoming.
Most of the times that my wife & I have visited the Potirou for a beer in the afternoon we have been given very tasty free mezes.
If you are in the area I would highly recommend a visit to this hidden gem in the centre of the island to experience quality fare & the charm of the village.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Perhaps one of the best places to eat in Naxos. The food is delicious, the products are all local. There is a great variety of different local cheeses. I definitely recommend the boiled goat and the grilled beef. But everything else is delicious also. The staff is friendly and the service is quick.

Highly recommended if you are looking for simple traditional cuisine, away from the crowds.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely shaded terrace under a large chestnut tree, in the middle of the old village square. Nice service and good foods (bit salty grilled vegetables). If you like the quiet spots outside the tourist areas.
