Punjab Indian&Greek restaurant - Sofokli Venizelou 69

As a Muslim on holiday in Crete finding anywhere halal is difficult - this place is excellent and They can do halal meat! The owner is super kind and advised us on where we can buy halal meat from. I ended up taking the family to eat and the food was excellent! Great place with a fantastic view, we wish you the best of luck in the future and if you are craving a curry then get down here it's 10/10!

The people are very nice and humble. The food was delicious 10/10. Things to be improved: The 4 stars are for the lack of ambience compared to the restaurants next to it and the lack of drink options (mostly canned).

Our visit to the restaurant felt like visiting a friend's home. The food was delicious, the owner (along with his two daughters) were very welcoming, and the atmosphere was cozy; the tea at the end of the meal was a great finish! We enjoyed the music in the background as well the view which faces the water. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit and we wish the elder daughter the best of luck with her studies and getting into the Army college!

We loved the food! Vegetable samousa, kebab, chicken tikka massala, prawn korma, chicken biryani, mango lassi, cobra beer and kingfisher beer. We would recommend this restaurant to everyone. The food is so delicious! Make sure you finish your starters before starting with your maincourse, or at least try them a bit. After eating the biryani and chicken tikka we personally found the kebab to have less flavor than before the main dish. (This only because the main was soooo packed with flavor) Service is friendly, welcoming and fast. We enjoyed the food and will definetly go back befor leaving.

This place is a hidden gem in Rethymno! Amongst all the restaurants serving very similar foods along the beach strip, this restaurant was a pleasant surprise. I wish we came here sooner! The service was amazing and quick, the food was incredible (my husband said “one of the best curry’s I’ve ever had”), and the price was very reasonable. I really really recommend this place for a very welcome break from some of the more overpriced food in the area. You won’t regret it! Would give 10 stars if I could

We had the best meal. The owner was really sweet, but his daughter was AMAZING! Bless her, she was so sweet!!! We ordered a bunch a food to try out… and left half of it because of how full we was. It was amazing all of it.

Wow this food is sooooo good, every bite has a taste explosion. The host is very friendly en de restaurant is typical Indiaan style and elegant. One of my favorit restaurants in Rethymnon!

You probably think that I am out of my mind for coming to a Greek island to have a curry. Let me explain. Once you’re done eating all the Greek food and dining at all the tourist traps around Crete, you’ll find that there must be a place that gives you an elevated dining experience. And sadly, that restaurant is not Greek. This is perhaps, one of the best curries I’ve had. I’m saying that as someone who’s had plenty of curries coming from Malaysia and having lived in the UK. I’ve not found anything in London that has a curry that beats this place and I’ve been searching for a good curry in London for a long time. Both me and my wife were absolutely impressed. This family-owned restaurant should be celebrated! The staff are friendly. The food is fantastic. The view is absolutely marvellous. It is an unfortunate observation to see that this restaurant doesn’t seem to get much attention, obviously given that it doesn’t sell much “local” food. I believe, however, great cuisine can be had anywhere and it doesn’t always have to be “local”. Why not have good food while you’re enjoying your trip in Crete?
