On a short break in Crete this was the closest restaurant to our villa. So having tried a harbourside restaurant in Rethmino (ok but expensive - you pay for the view) we decided to try something "more traditional"...twice. Both times the food was very good and reasonably priced. The first time there was a waitress working, she was brilliant, knew the menu and the wines well and had an enthusiasm for both. My daughter loved the "leaky Cauldron salad" - pictured, I had squid which was perfectly cooked (not tough and rubbery) on our second visit my wife had the veal steak - 15oz: a huge lump of meat... too much for one in my opinion. I would recommend this restaurant and wish them every success in these difficult times... so hopefully there are still there next time we visit Crete.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a brilliant meal at the Leaky Cauldron - starters, mains and complimentary desserts for less than €20 per person. The house white wine, shrimp and sautéed vegetables and tzatziki were all delicious and the service was excellent - we'll definitely be back!
