It is the pilgrimage temple of the city of Ioannina, dedicated to the patron saint Saint Neomartyr George. Inside the church is the shrine of the saint and its sacred scene. It is the only church in the city where the Divine Liturgy is performed daily.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ναός του νεομάρτυρα Αγίου Γεωργίου, πολιούχου της πόλης των Ιωαννίνων (1808- 1838). Η μνήμη του τιμάται κάθε 17 Ιανουαρίου, ημερομηνία που μαρτύρησε με απαγχονισμό. Ο ναός θεμελιώθηκε και ανεγέρθηκε με δωρεά του Πυρσογιαννίτη Χρήστου Πάτση το 1960, όταν επέστρεψε από την Αμερική όπου έζησε για πολλά χρόνια.
Church of the new martyr Agios Georgios, patron of the city of Ioannina (1808-1838). His memory is honored every January 17, the date he was hanged. The church was founded and erected with a donation from Christos Patsis of Pyrsogiannitis in 1960, when he returned from America where he lived for many years.
