Santa Marina, a Luxury Collection Resort, Mykonos - Ornos Bay

My boyfriend and I have visited Santa Marina every September since 2014 and people ask us why... we are both fortunate enough to be well travelled and like to visit luxury hotels around the world. However Santa Marina is a cut above the rest, 5 stars isn't enough. I cannot pick one fault with this place. Every year they improve and they take on board feedback from customers to make the hotel even more luxurious. Every member of staff you will meet will be friendly, helpful and very courtious. The rooms are all exquisite with everything you could need for a relaxing holiday. The views are spectacular too. I always have the best weeks sleep of the year at this hotel! The food offering at the hotel is some of the best on the island, ( and we've tried most places) so much so that out of 7 nights we ate at Buddah Bar 3 times in the evening and twice for lunch. Cocktails are beautifully crafted and the bar team are so much fun if you get a chance to have a drink at the bar - special shout out to Nick, Alex & Manos. I think the setting and outlook of this restaurant is hard to beat anywhere in the world. The hotel is large for Mykonos but it doesnt feel busy or crowded, there are lots of sunbathing areas and the private beach is what makes this hotel for us. The sand and warm calm sea is perfect. The hotel is located close to Ornos which is great too for access to other bars and restaurants. If you are unsure about wether or not to book here, just book it. You will not be dissapointed. This years holiday was simply magical, we got engaged here this year too which the reception team helped my boyfriend organise by sorting our favourite room. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. For 1000+/night I expect more. The grounds are great. Staff is good and accommodating. Gym is substandard. Breakfast is one of the best in Europe. There were also accounting issues. What's special...they have their own beach access, dock and heliport.

The service is awesome — so attentive but not in your face. Beautiful property, amazing views, the most comfortable bed ever, best breakfast ever, and best private beach ever. The cons— I’ve never been at a property with so many stairs. Over 150 stairs to go to the beach from my room and to the restaurant in the evening. Going back up the stairs which are not lit in the evening is pretty dangerous. Ladies, don’t wear heels while doing this.

Arriving for another week to celebrate our 27th anniversary felt like putting on those favourite slippers. Everything was as it should be, views perfect, weather perfect, rooms perfect and generally exactly as expected. Staff were prepared, attentive and in a couple of cases by the pool perhaps a little too aggressive on the ‘buy this most expensive one’ for lunch but that’s lost in the fact that most of the staff were fab. It’s good to know that when you pay for luxury, you get it! Thank you and special shout out to Eugenia, Olga and Kostas.

The hotel is stunning and the private beach sets it apart from any of the other hotels we stayed in Mykonos. The food was delicious and Buddha Bar has such a great vibe for any night whether you are in a couple or with friends. The pool is great although would be better if it was heated however, on a hot day its still lovely to use. The staff ensured we had a lovely stay and we cannot wait to return.

We’ve stayed at the Santa Marina many times. Its unique position which creates this sheltered private beach is so fortunately ideal for families with children, as well as anyone who like sheltering from the region strong summer winds. The place is the most prestigious luxury hotel on the island, featuring the famous Buddha Bar restaurant and an upscale trendy infinity pool. The rooms are fairly large, all looking towards the sea, letting in lots of light and tastefully decorated in Greek modern style. In fact the whole place is thought and built like a traditional Mykonian village boasting the local colors, feel and charm. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and rooms are clean, sun beds on the beach well attended, restaurants and bars well staffed and accommodating.

Superb service. I cannot stress enough how impressed I felt staying at this hotel. The ratio of staff to guests is apparent as soon as you walk in. Everyone is super courteous. They make you feel really special. The front desk staff were exceptional. They try to do whatever they can to fulfill your requests.The concierge staff were extremely helpful in guiding first time visitors planning their entire stay with top recommendations of restaurants wineries and beach clubs. Unbelievable breakfast with breathtaking views at the Mykonos Social. At the exclusive Buddah Bar Beach you are offered top notch service by the many friendly staff. The hotel is centrally located by the most famous Beach clubs. Don't look any further. Stay here!
