★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There is a hidden cave in the rocks, which in the past was a hidden school and monastery. The view is beautiful and its totaly uniqe. This place is near to Fakistra beach, there are signs where to turn and go down. The way is a bit steep!

It is a small church of Panagia Megalomata (Virgin Mary) in a cave with a hidden school adjacent to it which operated during the ottoman rule in Greece. The view of the sea and cliffs is stunning. It is said that a monk used to live here during the 17th century and taught children how to write and read There is a sign at the parking area which will lead you to the footpath towards the cave. The footpath is quite demanding so it is recommended to wear appropriate shoes. The walk takes about 15 minutes.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The beach is amazing and you should definitely go and visit, book a place near by and go check all the beautiful places around. The only thing you need to keep in mind a good shoe or sandals because the path is rough and you need to be steady. There is a water fall directly behind you with sweet water. Also the sea is cold because of the water fall.
