Τις τελευταίες δεκαετίες είχε περιέλθει σε παρακμή και οι αδελφές Κρίστι, Λίζα και Κλερ, που κληρονόμησαν το νησί το 2006, δέχθηκαν προτάσεις να το πουλήσουν. Προτίμησαν, όμως, να το διαχειριστούν με έναν τρόπο που αφενός θα ταίριαζε στο λιτό lifestyle τους και αφετέρου θα αξιοποιούσε την κοσμοπολίτικη εμπειρία τους: Η πρώτη, που «τρέχει» το Silver Island Yoga μαζί με τον σύζυγό της, έχει καλλιτεχνικό background και εμπειρία σε διοργάνωση μεγάλων εκδηλώσεων, όπως το Bestival, ένα τετραήμερο μουσικό φεστιβάλ που γίνεται κάθε χρόνο στη νήσο Γουάιτ. Η δεύτερη, επιφορτισμένη με τα οργανωτικά και την προώθηση της επιχείρησης, είναι νοσηλεύτρια, με συμμετοχή σε πλήθος φιλανθρωπικών αποστολών ανά τον κόσμο, σε μια από τις οποίες δούλεψε μαζί με τη μητέρα Τερέζα. Οι δυο τους υλοποίησαν ένα project που συνδύαζε την αγάπη τους για το συγκεκριμένο τόπο, από τον οποίο είχαν παιδικές αναμνήσεις, την απόφασή τους να ζήσουν μια ζωή σε ουσιαστική επαφή με τη φύση και τη γνώση τους για το πώς θα μπορούσε να στηθεί και να λειτουργήσει ένα τέτοιο εγχείρημα. Μπορεί οι υποδομές στο νησί να είναι στοιχειώδεις, αλλά ο χώρος έχει μια ενιαία ταυτότητα που αντανακλά το όραμα των ανθρώπων που τον επιμελήθηκαν, ακόμη και σε λεπτομέρειες όπως οι πινακίδες που τοποθετήθηκαν στα μονοπάτια του νησιού για να διευκολύνουν την περιήγηση: σανίδες καρφωμένες πάνω σε ξύλινους πασσάλους και λέξεις που σχηματίζονται από μπλε νήμα. Argyronisos has been part of the Christie family for over 60 years - immigrants with Greek roots in South Africa - and has experienced golden times in the distant past, as a destination for international jet sets, including Princess Diana. In recent decades it has been in decline and sisters Christie, Lisa and Claire, who inherited the island in 2006, have accepted offers to sell it. However, they preferred to manage it in a way that on the one hand would suit their simple lifestyle and on the other hand would make use of their cosmopolitan experience: The first, who "runs" Silver Island Yoga with her husband, has an artistic background and experience in organizing major events such as Bestival, a four-day music festival held annually on the Isle of Wight. The second, in charge of organizing and promoting the business, is a nurse, participating in a number of charitable missions around the world, in one of which she worked with mother Teresa. The two implemented a project that combined their love for this place, from which they had childhood memories, their decision to live a life in meaningful contact with nature and their knowledge of how it could be set up and work such an endeavor. The infrastructure on the island may be rudimentary, but the space has a single identity that reflects the vision of the people who took care of it, even in details such as the signs placed on the paths of the island to facilitate navigation: planks nailed to wooden stakes and words formed by blue thread.
