ATMOSPHERE

The architecture of SIMUL reflects the aesthetics of the people that are managing it. Alexandra, the owner of the restaurant and Nikos the head chef of the restaurant.

In collaboration with the architect, they managed to transmit their elegance and their philosophy into an amazing restaurant. Simple clean lines, arches and primary raw materials can be seen all around the restaurant.

The diners can observe the unique manipulation of the raw materials, like Travertino marble, some metallic elements in the decorations, golden elements in the furniture. Intensity but also elegance, variety but also a nice balance.

Wonderful gastronomic experience. Highly recommended. Flavors, presentation, and quality combine to create exciting dishes. Gentle, attentive and friendly service. Pleasant outdoor seating during Covid. Very reasonable prices.

Α supreme experience!!! Amazing food that showcases the local Greek products. My friends and I had several dishes from the menu and I can say that I haven't found a single negative item, even if there were products that I don't prefer in my everyday life. A huge thumbs up to the staff and waiters who treated us with tremendous professionalism and made us feel comfortable and friendly. I highly recommend it and will definitely go back again.

What a gold mine. This cosy and beautiful neighbourhood restaurant holds a high level of culinary standard and customer service. We had such a great night here. The waiter was excellent in sharing recommendations and sharing the backstory to the dishes. The seabass tartare was beautiful and fresh, the octopus with pak choi was sublime, the chicpeas with bone marrow was full of flavour and the lamb was just to die for. We finished it off with a fig tart. Our best meal in Athens by a mile. Make sure you make a stop here when visiting this fine city.

One of the most interesting Mediterranean cuisines. Beautiful combination of flavors with ingredients that are not so commonly used. The staff was friendly and helpful. The wonder: Crab Caesar! Recommended plates: shrimp tartare, beef carpaccio, beef filet tartare which was excellent and beef cuts. You should also try Dolmas and chickpeas. The only plate I would say impressed me the least was the rooster; still tasted good. As for desserts I would definitely recommend the parsnip.

We visited this restaurant on June 22nd, a party of 3 people. After a long lockdown, I had high hopes that I would enjoy a good meal. Alas, little did I know. Let me start by saying that the meal was not bad, not bad at all. It was something worse. It was blunt. Let me explain: 1) The welcome breads and spread were a very nice touch. Good butter and delicious bread 2) Beef fillet tartare: Although the marinade was interesting, there was a base of rice (a first in any tartare dish I have ever had). This offered nothing to the taste of the dish (to the contrary it overpowered the beef) and I can only imagine it existed as a means to increase the quantity of the dish 3) Chickpeas with bone marrow and crayfish. The crayfish and the sauce were nice. I could not taste anywhere the bone marrow and the chickpeas if you tried them on their own, they were tasteless. This is supposed to be one of the signature dishes of the place 4) Beef tongue with peppers, eel and garlic sauce. We were warned that this dish was a bit "spicy". Maybe I have Covid19 and I cannot taste anything. That's why I could not identify this as spicy. Not by a long shot. The beef was well cooked but yet another dish with a blunt feeling 5) Rooster with trachanas and Naxos cheese (arseniko). I have tried a similar dish in Naxos and this had nothing to do with it. The trachanas was tasty, but the rooster was too fatty (with a lot of white fat- how???) and the arseniko cheese was again too weak. Another hit and miss 6) Ribeye with hollandaise sauce and french fries: The friend who had that was happy since it was medium and the meat was quite tasty. I tried some and I found it rather dry (disclaimer: I did try it after it had cooled down so this might have something to do with it) 7) Cacao creme brulee: Filling but too sweet. Why incorporate cacao into a creme brulee??? Overall, for the kind of food that it serves, the place is overpriced and overhyped. I would definitely not recommend. I am giving 3 stars only because the food was edible and the staff were very professional and attentive. At this price range you have better options.

First time at Simul and definitely not the last. Saturday lunch sitting on the small patio of the restaurant. Very nice atmosphere, sunny, quiet Service very friendly, knowledgable and attentive. Excellent sourdough house made bread with different butters and a tasty olive oil. Nice start Do not miss the soft shell crab Caesar’s salad. Would eat it on a daily basis. Then an appetizer of liver and a grilled calamari. Both of them very tasty although slightly less memorable compared to the salad As mains we had the rooster and the lamb. Rooster is more wintery and hearty. Beautifully cooked, reminded me of Sunday lunch at home only better! Lamb was very seasonal accompanied by wild asparagus, artichokes and seasonal greens. Very tender. Both mains are highly recommended Price-wise I would say around 50-70€pp incl glasses of wine/cocktails while you can also do with less if you order just 2 starters Good selection of wines and a small but nicely crafted cocktails catalogue (i tried the grapefruit one which was in-between a g&t and a Paloma. Very refreshing (suitable for the sunny afternoon) although probably a bit too floral for my liking Simul although in Kolonaki in the posh heart of Athens is kinda “off Broadway”, in a very serene area of the city. Do try it. There is no way you will leave disappointed.

Great service, delicious dishes! I mostly enjoyed the chicken with trachanoto and arseniko cheese, but the rest dishes were really tasty as well. The staff was amazing, when I chose the wine they informed me that it was quite strong, I should give it a chance and if it was not to my liking, they would bring another! Service was impeccable, the little chocolate with the bill helped as well ?
