The Council of State (CoC) is the Supreme Administrative Court. Its (current as it is) operation began on May 17, 1929. It is the cornerstone of the Greek system of judicial control of administrative action. It is the Supreme Court for reviewing the legality of administrative acts and has been recognized as the strong protector of both the citizen and the State.

The construction was completed thanks to the donor Apostolos Arsakis, a Greek-Romanian politician and philanthropist. It houses the Greek Council of State.
