★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Smaragdi is a great central spot for the Venetian Harbour and really for everything within Chania. It's surprisingly quiet considering the location. Mr Plaka - the host's partner (I think that's his name) was cheerful and accommodating about checking in and out.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We spend 2 nights at Smaragdi Rooms. Nick was very friendly and welcomed us with Great advise for Restaurants and beaches. The room is not big But comfortable. The location is wonderful!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Rented a single room for a night. It is a rather simple but clean accommodation with AC, tea kettle and other basic amenities. Very good mattress. Located right next to the Venetian Harbour in a beautiful little street. Very friendly staff. I recommend it if you do not mind the simple furniture and look. The location makes up for it!
