Snail Farm and Fun - Epar.Od. Tylisos - Anogion

I was staying with a friend's family nearby and saw this farm on the map. We visited with two children (8&9 years old) and had such a happy visit. Stavros and Vasso have researched and set up a snail farm that produces hundreds of kilos of snails every year and they're very happy to share the ups and downs of snail breeding in excellent English. Vasso fried us some snails in herbs and vinegar. We had eaten French snails before but these were more delicious and served with home grown olives and some delicious bread, feta and tomatoes. The kids weren't brave enough to try the snails but they enjoyed the tour, playing with the cats and there were other activities for them too. If we visit Herakleion again we'll definitely pop back to see how they are getting on with the snail project!

We did had a great time here and learned new things about snails. The owners are very nice, served a real good lunch (including snails and homemade wine) and entertained us really well. Definitely worth a visit!

An amazing time visiting the farm and learning more about snails. The owners are very nive and interesting to talk with. I wish we had more time to keep talking. Next time I am in Crete I will definetely go back (and to continue the French lesson) ! In the meantime I can only recommend to other people travelling in Crete to stop by this place

We stumbled upon this farm by accident and decided to take a look. Even though it was closed he happily opened for us. It was so much better than we expected!! The owner is full of passion and the tour was not only fun but we actually learned tons of stuff. The view is amazing and everybody in the area should visit this if they are around. Its not something you'll find anywhere and we had a great time! Thanks for everything! When we are back in Kreta we will definitely come back.

what a very beautiful place! we enjoyed our afternoon spent here. the couple who run the snail farm are very friendly and hospitable. they work with passion on their beautiful farm. they have made and built everything with their own hands very impressive to see this. go and have a look, feel free to plan an afternoon ahead and be surprised. It’s a unique experience and highly recommended to visit the farm. The hosts are very friendly and eager to tell you everything about the snails and the other things around the farm. They are very sweet and we had a great time talking with them.
