★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I highly recommend this restaurant. Eating here was like having a festive dinner at someone's traditional home. This is a family restaurant and they use the traditional recipes past on through the generations. Ionnia welcomed us and explained all the dishes, which are so vastly different from your standard taverna fare. They made the best moussaka I ever had. Every element was perfectly flavored and blended together with the others including a substantial flaky pastry over the top. The delicious dolmades were smothered in a lemony sauce. We loved the talagani (cheese with honey) which was like dessert and the giouslemedes, cheese pastries. We had to order another portion. We ended the evening with a rich hot chocolate soufflé. In short - amazing culinary experience.
Just one thing to note - as of this writing, the location on Google maps is wrong. The restaurant is on the southeast side of the square in Rafina, not on a side street. It is worth making the effort to find it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really lovely restaurant specialising in the cuisine of Asia Minor sprinkled with a Greek touch. Watch the portions and if you are not too hungry, remember not to order too much food. Some dishes are overrated but I always return thanks to the excellent service, the cosy atmosphere and the good music owners manage to choose for us.
