★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I worked this summer in " πολιτεία και βίος". I really was amazed by the professionalism of the owner. The kitchen was always clean, the local products were renewed by daily basis and the food, besides the fact that is plenty, is also delicious! We are lucky to have this unic restaurant in the square of Kato Chorio! Special thanks to the most badass cook, Elena, and of course to the owner of this marvelous restauran, Christos, and his lovely wife, Markella. I left with the best memories. Thank you very much!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The tavern is situated on the Platia of this town. There are not only tables in front of it but also, as it can be seen on the picture below, on a big terasse, surrounded by beautiful trees.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, even if some staff members did not understand English. However, that was not much of a problem and it can happen that you suddenly find yourself in a small talk anyway.
Especially on hot days, it is very welcome that if you order sth, the cold water, they offer to you additionally, is free of charge, which is very welcome.
If you eat there, do npt forget to order a desert like the hot "pancakes" with some cheese in it. They come alpng with some tasty honey, made by the priest of this town. Very delicious and recommended. If you like the honey, you can even buy some from the tavern. 1kg for 12 Euros seems a very reasonable price for that.
The bathroom amenities were very clean and functional.
All said, this tavern was a welcoming little diamond. If you pass the town on the way to the south of Crete, do npt hesitate to stop by there. Thank you for this warm experience.
