Although you of course can order a la cart, the finest choice you will find in the recommendation of "Mr Taka-Taka" who will invite you into the kitchen and offer you samples of the many daily dishes. Moussaka and Stefado, if prepared, are exceptionally recommended and unbeatable until now. White vine is home made, which is fairly cheep for the quality served as well as the Rosé. Strongly recommended if you desire fine food in a welcoming but cosy athomsphere.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best lunch I 've ever had during my several visits at Kalamata. Delicious and authentic, the whole atmosphere of the place is like a leap to the past. Please don't get overly cautious due to the tavern's location like I did (I 've been avoiding it for years for that reason), you will not get disappointed!
