Taverna Syrtaki - Leof. Souniou 114

Went here for lunch this afternoon and it was great. I was dissapointed at first with the number of things that weren't on the menu, such as fresh grilled octopus. The waiter recommended the black risotto with squid and ink. Yes, ink. It was great!! My only criticism was not enough squid. My husband had a pork steak that looked like a small pig, and my mother had almost 1lb of mussels with her linguini. Excellent meal and excellent service.

After a short walk from the temple we had dinner in this little fish restaurant, which was really nice and tasty. Typical Greek restaurant with nice peeps, fresh fish and fair prices…

One of the best fish tavernas I have tried in Greece. Very fresh and impeccably cooked fish. Very good prices in relation to the quality. Fast and friendly service! I highly recommend it!

Just driving by after visiting the Poseidon Temple, I stopped in Taverna Syrtaki. Mediterranean food at it's best. In particular the risotto with pesto, tuna and mushrooms, a real delight!! My wife took the the linguini with huge shrimps, also very good. Enjoy!! Update June 15th 2022. We returned to this fine restaurant almost 4 years later. I can only confirm the high quality of the food, nice reception, the view was great. One of my favorite restaurants.

This is overall a really good choice for seafood in the greater Cape Sounio area. The service is on point, expeditious, very polite, have great command of English (so you know exactly what you’re eating) and very attentive. We were a large group, and all the food came in a really timely manner. The food itself was overall very very good and you will find a good selection of alcoholic beverages to wash it down with :) . I very much enjoyed the small fish dishes, but as a raw fish lover did not find the sea bream ceviche to my taste (it was scented with basil leaves which, to me, tasted more like pesto - it was a good ceviche though and I think others might like enjoy it). The fried seafood was done to perfection, although the larger fish grilling had room for improvement (there were traces of pink on the flesh close to the head of the sturgeon). The frozen seafood is clearly marked on the menu (which is not always the case in tavernas - so, shout-out for that to Syrtaki), but do inquire for fresh fish options as the staff will guide you through the available options. Also, keep in mind that the portions are quite big, so moderate your order accordingly! I should also note that the staff were super kind in packaging our leftovers (because, yes, we did over order) to take away. So, overall I do recommend this place if you are in the area.

Close to the temple of Sounio, you can find this tradional fish tavern. The restaurant has some of the best fish I ate sofar in Greece (living here 11 years). The service is impecable and the food is just an experience on its own, perfectly grilled fish, calamari, steamed mussels, fried calamari, marinated gavros and delicious salads.... All prepared with love and full of taste. Value for money is really good, especially when you look at the giant portions compared to the Athenian fish Taverns. Defenitely worth the ride.... People drive 100 km to go and eat there, that must mean something! The drive to Sounio is anyway a beatiful ride along the aegean coast,. Will defenitely be back and thanks again for thr wonderful experience to thr team!

Great food (fresh ingredients & they know their recipes), quick service, nice drive to get there from athens. Minus 1 star only because it was packed with noisy, large groups of people and too many kids (then again this might be a plus for some).
