Το πρώτο εστιατόριο TGI Fridays™ άνοιξε στις 15 Μαρτίου 1965, στη γωνία των First Avenue και 63rd Street στη Νέα Υόρκη. Ο Alan Stillman, πωλητής αρωμάτων, άνοιξε το πρώτο εστιατόριο TGI Fridays™, για να γνωρίζει ελεύθερες «αεροσυνοδούς» που έμεναν στη γειτονιά του. Σύμφωνα με το μύθο, ο Alan Stillman βρήκε το όνομα TGI Fridays™ ενώ έκανε σκι με φίλο του, όταν εκνευρισμένος επειδή τον είχε νικήσει, αναφώνησε "Thank Goodness it's Friday!" Μέχρι τότε το εστιατόριο δεν είχε όνομα, και αποφάσισε να το ονομάσει έτσι.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The manager of this restaurant should pay more attention to the hygiene. A waiter brought us 2 glasses of wine in such dirty glasses that we decided to leave the restaurant. I don’t want to imagine how dirty is the kitchen….. waiters should also pay more attention to their job and to the clients checking the cleanliness of plates and glasses

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've seriously lost count of the times I've visited this place! Great vibe, food, drinks and service! THE place to be any time of the day! Also, I loved the Pumpkin Rita (Halloween Special) I had on my last visit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was in Athens for a week so after trying all the local food, I was craving for some American.
Unfortunately in Greece if you only had 2 doses of vaccine it is only valid for 6 more months after your last doses in restaurants and clubs, not for 9 months as advertised on the website so I was a bit sad when I was told that I couldn't dine in but it wasn't really their fault and honestly I prefer to go to places where they take covid measures seriously even though it means they don't let me in.
After all I was still able to get takeaway, and the food was as delicious as always. I had mac and cheese and quesadilla.
Also the hostess was friendly and recommended to get tested at any pharmacy for like 6 euro and with that you are able to eat at restaurants.
