The Romanos, a Luxury Collection Resort, Costa Navarino - Navarino Dunes Messinia

Absolutely superb resort. The staff could not do enough and were so well trained. Breakfast was fantastic as were all meals in general. Loved the beach restaurant in particular. Great room, pool area and beach and did I mention the golf courses. felt very covid secure. A few small gripes - poor selection of in room TV channels (no sport), lighting on the pathways poor in some areas.

Fantastic, amazing, marvelous, outstanding. These are some of the words to describe this hotel. The best resort in Europe and possibly in the world for family vacations. It has everything with a flawless level of service. It even has a lot of mobile applications to make your life easier to book restaurants, spa, to request room service, etc. it’s also pet friendly. In sum, this is the top of the line of what the Marriott group has to offer.

While the scenery is gorgeous, the private plunge pools in our rooms superb, the food excellent, and activities numerous, it is the staff here that take this resort beyond excellent into one of the most amazing places I have ever stayed. So many superb employees and I didn’t get the name of every warm, friendly staff member, amazing at their job and couldn’t do enough to help. Let’s start with Maria (from Chicago) who transformed the breakfast into an experience I looked forward to every day; Michael from Navarino Outdoor who tailored each adventure for us, Panayiotis at Onuki (who not only mixes the most wonderful cocktails but is a pleasure to chat with and so sophisticated at only 21), George (last year’s skipper of our sailing trip who is not only an amazing sailor and host but an intriguing conversationalist), Manos the sommelier who created a unique and special wine tasting (with no notice) and whose knowledge of Greek wines is unmatched and last but certainly not least the concierge Vasilis. Vasilis worked tirelessly with good humour, grace, and strong depth of knowledge to recommend experiences, restaurants, ancient sites and is the most welcoming concierge ever. Nothing was ever too much trouble and on the rare times he couldn’t make exactly what I wanted happen, he came up with fantastic alternatives. Our room was lovely, positioned in an ideal spot with a stunning view and a private plunge pool. I loved almost every restaurant we tried. I’d award 5+ starts to Onuki (Japanese), Armyra (seafood, stunning views from the upper deck), Anax lounge (sunset drinks), Pero (breakfast buffet which introduced me to the many Greek cheese beyond feta), the Souvlakerie (chicken souvlaki) and Flame (steak place at the golf course) – stunning views and wonderful service. My husband was raised in Tokyo and Onuki (both in terms of food and service) could compete with the best of Tokyo. We took full advantage of the activities on offer – hiking with Navarino Outdoor, kayaking and dinghy sailing with Surf Salad, big boat sailing with Navarino Yachting, guided tour of the ancient sites (outside guide), wine tasting and an astronomy night. Each experience was enjoyable, and added another dimension to our trip. But for those with less energy, sitting on the beach, swimming in the lovely sea and tasting the food would alone make a trip here a remarkable experience.

First and foremost, a big thank you to all the staff who made sure we had a great stay! This resort is definitely one of the best in Europe. Great location, facilities and the service is top class. Beautiful and clean rooms, great beds and pillows. Covid restrictions were still in effect during our stay, but this resort had everything perfectly arranged, no disruptive factors in the restaurants and other amenities. Everything felt Corona safe. We enjoyed our stay from the first to the last minute. We are already looking forward to our next stay at the Romanos!

I just felt in love with this resort. A place where you have everything you want. Almost anything you desire can be requested by the WhatsApp service, with a reply to your question within minutes. Outdoor spaces and pools are beautifully landscaped. Lots of green with a great care about nature. You have a large choice of restaurants and facilities. Most ground floor rooms have individual pools. Staff was amazing. They frequently anticipated my needs and made the experience wonderful.

At the beginning of the summer I escaped to Costa Navarino in the Greek region of Messinia for a few days. The resort (though it is much more than ‘just’ a resort) is perfect to experience Greek culture and gastronomy, in a rustic yet luxurious environment that is naturally integrated in the natural surroundings. Costa Navarino features two 5-star hotels: The Romanos and The Westin Resort. There is a spa, two golf courses, a private beach, indoor and outdoor swimming pools and over 20 restaurants. As a holiday destination, it appeals to couples of all ages as well as families with young children.

Enjoyed my stay at The Romanos very much. Great staff, beautiful surroundings, absolutely delicious cuisine and utterly comfortable rooms. As a destination wedding photographer I have quite a lot of beautiful resorts, but this is definitely one of my favourites stays ever. Wouldn’t at all mind returning to shoot a wedding here.

In our opinion the most kind, friendly crew maybe and without any exaggeration in Greece. The whole facility beyond dreams! It can compete resorts worldwide. The whole experience magnificent! Superb food, superb rooms/villas has its own square with shops like a small village. I could right pages and pages! You SHOULD ALL visit Costa Navarino!
