★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Large, well-stocked, women's fashion store in the heart of Oia. As the name would suggest most of the dresses, skirts, blouses, shorts, and accessories are made of silk. Moderate prices with exceptional customer service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had read about this shop as specializing in natural fibers - silk, cashmere, linen, etc and was very excited to look around as i focus a lot on fabrics/ materials when shopping online/ in US. The shop keeper (owner?) was very friendly and helpful in selecting things to try on. This was the first store we stopped in and looking for a new light, summery dress I purchased one along with a linen top. I should have read the tags more carefully but the store was filling up and I wanted to move along. I assumed the dress to be silk (given the stores name and description) at ~150 euroWhen I went to wear, the hand feel prompted me to read the tag— viscose and rayon. As I inspected I noticed the seams were hastily made, and with the cuts almost appeared crooked and cheap. I had the chance to notice these before purchase so my own error, but this dress was not worth 150 euro. The linen shirt is fine but as we wandered the tourist stalls of Athens I noticed these shirts everywhere for 18 euros vs the 35 euros charged here. Clearly overpriced and not the quality boutique it first appears.

If you need a break from the tourist beat, stop in the Silk Shop and check out their sister store: Ecru, to experience a different side of Oia.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A beautiful shop, wonderfully laid out with amazing attention to detail. The Silk Shop sells light and airy silk dresses and tops, perfect for the long summer nights on the island, but it also has a variety of other fabrics, including beautifully designed linen dresses and trousers, and to die for Cashmere shawls. We bought the organic cotton bed runner dyed with natural indigo, and love it! The emphasis is on natural fabrics, comfort and design. I only wish they had a branch over here!
