Themis Beach Hotel - Kokkini Hani

Unidentifiable food, smelly, poor quality service. We had a room on the first floor. The bathroom sink had a leaky pipe, they gave you only shampoo and a bar of soap of very poor quality. The bed was hard and so were the pillows. We asked for a different room and they said no, even though there were plenty of free rooms. The worst part was the food. It is cafeteria style and they serve the same dishes every day. Very little of it was fresh. They had a bunch of salads, all covered in heavy grease, mayo or something like that. Meat was tough, tasted terrible and side dishes such as rice were reheated from meal to meal. The smell coming out of the kitchen reminded me of an old dirty dish rag. They served something they called "orange juice". It was a liquid I couldn't identify, something between tang and orange colored water. Coffee was weak and awful. Wine and beer tasted like they were diluted with water. This hotel should have two stars at most. If you are used to clean and fresh food and a level of service found in most 1st world countries, by all means avoid this place.

First time in Crete, we made a great choice, with the Themis Beach hotel. The food is great, the rooms are cool, the staff is friendly and hospitable. The sand on the beach is excellent and our 18months old baby enjoyed (almost) every wave. Very kid friendly, great views, all in all, a great time, here! Still 3 days to go!

My family of 12 (all adults-we took up six rooms) recently stayed at Themis Beach Hotel for two weeks. Our rooms had a gorgeous view of the hotel pool and the beach that connects to the hotel. Sunsets and sunrises were a beauty to behold. The hotel is one of the most immaculate hotels I have ever stayed in. Staff are constantly working to keep common areas clean and well maintained. With the exception of one waiter who was rude on more than one occasion, every other staff member we encourtered was polite, caring, and eager to assist us. From the front desk clerks to the bartender, smiles and kindness abounded. There is a wonderful lounge area where we spent many evenings watching the World Cup. Families sat and played games, friends enjoyed drinks, and the atmosphere was extremely welcoming. Our room had a wonderful balcony where we were able to sit and read or just enjoy the view. Their salt water pool is one of the cleanest pools I have ever seen and was a welcome reprieve from the heat. There are many lounge chairs and umbrellas for guests to use while enjoying the pool. The entertainment squad, as we called them, were four energetic young adults who danced, ran pool/outdoor games and activities, and were in charge of evening entertainment. They were always interacting with the guests and the kids of other guests seemed to love them. We appreciated the snack bars by the pool and the beach as they allowed us to get something in between meals without having to leave the hotel or get properly dressed. The breakfast buffet offered a variety of foods and was always clean and well stocked. My only two complaints about the hotel were that the pool closed at 7 pm and we would have loved to enjoy a night swim. I know they do this for the purpose of cleaning the pool, but it would be easy enough for them to just open it later in the morning to allow for the cleaning cycle to finish. My other complaint is that the beds are HARD. We could not sleep on the mattress comfortably and especially not for two weeks. We got creative and spent a little money, but we were able to solve that problem ourselves. If I am every back in that area, there is no doubt that I will stay there again. With such an accommodating staff, clean hotel, and beautiful view, why would we stay anywhere else?

Hotel is not so new, but location is good. And beach near hotel is really perfect with BLUE FLAG. So if you not planning to book this place, just come to enjoy your time on the beach

The hotel met all our expectations it was clean, comfortable; food was delicious and varied enough. Everything is splendid. I highly recommend the tables served by the waiter Andre. Andre is a pleasant, courteous, elegant, helpful, understanding young man who excels in his duties. Super! Another ray of sunshine at the hotel is souvenir shop worker Tamara. It is only because of such staff that you want to return to the same hotel. There also is very pleasant girl at the reception (sorry, I don't know the name, but she's the only girl). Rooms are serviced daily. We were very surprised that we left the tips for the lady’s maid for, and she cleaned our room, but didn't take the money. All staff very nice and helpful. Hotel itself in a very good location, beach nearby, sandy. We chose a room without a sea view and did not regret it. Through the windows there was a beautiful panorama of the mountains and the nearby town. It was fun watching the waking Kokini Chani town in the morning from its balcony. On the downside, this hotel manager is very rude, watches, watches, just stares, but doesn't say “hello”. Very unpleasant drains. And another problem was that the air conditioner didn't always work and then the mosquito attacked. On the last day, he cut off our “all include” bracelets and did not give him a snack or a drink until late in the evening (flight late at night). We were very unpleasantly surprised by his action.

We stayed at a different hotel, but came to this beach whenever we were in Kokkini Hani. We obviously loved it, the price value was great. The beach bar maybe limited but provided all we needed. The service was specifically amazing, very friendly and helpful. Thank you Sofia for making our beach experience so good. We will miss you but definitely see you again. It's a very enjoyable experience to stay here at themus beach hotel. Rooms are comfy, small but not clumsy and always clean. Very peculiar style. Restaurant provides a good service, waiters are always ready for the customers, food is various and good with a lot of meat, fresh fruit and vegetables. A salty swimming pool is just near the beach with an open garden. The beach is like 50 foot away from the hotel, no road to cross, you can always find place and the sea is just beautiful, no rock but sand and water becomes deep slowly, no huge drop. Animation is present but reserved, never excessive. Ideal for family with children and couples.

Nice hotel with amazing sea view located just next to sandy beach. Very friendly and helpful staff, good food and cocktails. We enjoyed pool side with daily entertainment managed by lovely Denise. Thanks for a great week!
