★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Επισκέφτηκα για πρώτη φορά σήμερα (15/3/22) το Κέντρο Ιστορίας Θεσσαλονίκης με αφορμή τη Λέσχη ανάγνωσης του Κ.Ι.Θ. που πραγματοποιεί τις συναντήσεις της μία φορά το μήνα εντός της βιβλιοθήκης. Μου δόθηκε λοιπόν η ευκαιρία όχι μόνο να περιηγηθω στους χώρους του κτηρίου αλλά και να δω την πολύ ενδιαφέρουσα έκθεση που πραγματοποιείται αυτό το διάστημα στο ισόγειο του Κέντρου Ιστορίας Θεσσαλονίκης με θέμα "Παλιά επαγγέλματα - εικόνες από την καθημερινότητα μιας άλλης Θεσσαλονίκης". Πρόκειται ως επί το πλείστον για εικόνες, αλλά και κάποια αντικείμενα, που έρχονται από μια εποχή που έχει πια χαθεί. Μέσω της έκθεσης δίνετε η δυνατότητα σε όποιον παρεβρεθεί να γνωρίζει ή να θυμηθεί τον ξυλα, τον ματζουνα, τον αχθοφόρο, τον ακονιστη, τον γυρολόγο και τόσους ακόμη βιοπαλαιστές που με μόχθο έβγαζαν τα προς το ζην τον περασμένο αιώνα. Αν βρεθείτε στην περιοχή μπείτε να τη θαυμάσετε, θα σας ταξιδέψει. Η είσοδος είναι δωρεάν.
Ελπίζω να καταφέρω να ξεκλεψω λίγο χρόνο από την εργασία μου για να επισκεφτώ κάποια στιγμή και τη βιβλιοθήκη του Κέντρου Ιστορίας Θεσσαλονίκης η οποία όπως διαπίστωσα διαθέτει μια πληθώρα βιβλίων που όλα έχουν ως θέμα την ιστορία της πόλης μας. Σίγουρα μπορεί να βρει κανείς εκεί μέσα πολύ ενδιαφέρουσες πληροφορίες και είναι πολύ κρίμα που η βιβλιοθήκη λειτουργεί μόνο πρωινές ώρες. Αυτό αυτομάτως καθιστά αδύνατη την πρόσβαση σε όσους εργάζονται. Θα ήταν καλό να το επανεξετάσουν και να δίνουν τη δυνατότητα σε όλους έστω για ένα απόγευμα την εβδομάδα να επισκέπτονται τη βιβλιοθήκη. Κατά τα άλλα έμεινα απόλυτα ικανοποιημένη από την επίσκεψη μου. Ο χώρος ήταν πολύ προσεγμένος και το προσωπικό ευγενεστατο.
 I visited for the first time today (15/3/22) the History Center of Thessaloniki on the occasion of the Reading Club of K.I.TH. which meets once a month inside the library. So I was given the opportunity not only to tour the premises of the building but also to see the very interesting exhibition that is currently taking place on the ground floor of the History Center of Thessaloniki with the theme "Old professions - images from the daily life of another Thessaloniki". These are mostly images, but also some objects, which come from an era that is now lost. Through the exhibition you give the opportunity to anyone who attends to know or remember the wood, the matzouna, the porter, the sharpener, the gyrologist and so many other bio-wrestlers who worked hard to make a living in the last century. If you are in the area come in to admire it, it will take you on a journey. Admission is free.
I hope to be able to steal some time from my work to visit at some point the library of the History Center of Thessaloniki, which as I found out has a plethora of books that all deal with the history of our city. Surely one can find very interesting information in there and it is a pity that the library is open only in the morning. This automatically makes it inaccessible to those who work. It would be good to review it and give everyone the opportunity to visit the library at least for one afternoon a week. Otherwise I was completely satisfied with my visit. The place was very neat and the staff very polite.
