This restaurant is awesome! We had a lovely time there and the food was delicious. I highly recommend the sea bass, it was probably the best fish I ever ate. Thank you very much!

Friendly and helpful staff, great seafood dishes. Especially the salt crusted sea bass. They also have a range of local products like tea, honey, and olive oils.

I’ve been here twice last year and now a third time this week. I feel like over time the quality of food and service has gotten even better. We visited for a family celebration and all of the staff made sure to make it a special occasion. They were all friendly, polite, and professional. We tried fresh shrimp in kadaifi, mushrooms fricasse, stuffed vine leaves to start (we ordered a saganaki but they forgot to bring it, we chose not to remind them since we decided we probably ordered enough anyway, and it wasn’t added to our final bill). For mains we tried the lamb kebab and burgers, then dessert was the nut pie with passion fruit and chocolate moulleux. As complimentary dishes, we were given some dried bread with pomegranate and cream cheese topping, and at the end of our meal a strawberry galaktoboureko and butter caramel profiteroles. It’s by far the most generous offering of complimentary dishes I’ve had after living in Greece for 7 years. Everything was delicious, especially the dessert and I have no negative comments about any aspect of our meal. We also tried a white sangria which was the best I have ever tasted. I would go back just to drink those alone! I would definitely recommend Thigaterra to friends and family, and will definitely be visiting again.

We’ve just had the loveliest dining experience! Incredibly friendly and courteous staff, who payed attention to every single detail. As well as an amazing combination of ingredients and flavors all combined perfectly for every single dish - everything was prepared on point. All in all we couldn’t have wished for a better experience and would highly recommend a visit for an unforgettable evening. fyi - they also have a beautiful selection of different oils/herbs/pastas/sauces/spices and so on in a little shop within the restaurant - also really worth checking out

Excelent and unique food! I would definitely recommend. Everything was greatly cooked and presented. This restaurant expresses Cretan food in a very unique way, while the staff is excellently trained to please even the most difficult customers. Will definitely revisit!

I ate here about 3 times. 2 diners and 1 time at lunch. Such a beautiful place to eat. I love the setting, the staff was super helpful and friendly. The also have a little shop inside the restaurant where you can buy all sort of foods. Olive oils, wine etc First time I ate there i had seabass with a salt crust. They cleaned the fish at the table. Super nice. And it was delicious. Second time I had Greek salad for starters. So big! As I was eating there alone. 4 people could definitely eat from that whole plate ( Greek portions). For main i had gnocchi with beef cheeks. So delicious. They also give you a free amuse and dessert. Last meal was lunch on my last day in Greece. Buffalo mozzarella salad and a tomahawk porksteak. 4 people could from that. Such big portions. And i am a big eater but unfortunately I couldn't finish. They offered a doggy bag but because of my flight i had to say no. Definitely a must go. Would definitely eat here again.

Heavenly is all I can say… the food was the best we’ve had in Crete. The special care that goes into everything, from preparing the Greek croutons with yogurt, pomegranate sauce and olive oil to the complimentary desserts at the end of your meal is top notch. We had the fresh Cretan Greens, Chickpea and mackerel stew, Sea Bass and Vegan Moussaka. I was totally blown away and so grateful to experience this slow food lunch on our first day in Ammoudara. Highly recommend and we will be back. I would eat here everyday! The decor and atmosphere is so pleasing and beautiful. The gourmet deli items are tempting too!
