★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This info center is a joke. The women does not give you any info and does not even have a map of the area. She can only direct you to the tour operators to book a paid hiking tour.
After a less than 1 min conversation, she gives you a survey which basically wants you to agree that tourists need to pay to use the hiking trails around the monasteries.
I have never been more disappointed in a tourist information center.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had low expectations after reading some of the other comments, but the truth is that the lady gave us a paper map, allowed us to take pictures of the opening hours of the monasteries, and explained everything we asked. Thanks!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The woman who gave me informations answered my questions just saying "take a picture of this", "take a picture of that". The draws I pictured were good, but she was not very helpful and was not very interested helping me. (Meteora is great!)

The Information Centre has great, super-friendly staff! Big thanks to Christos for helping me figure out the logistics of moving around Kalambaka.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Christos in the information centre was really helpful and gave us a map to the area and explained the best places to visit, when they were open and also the best trails to hike with children. He has a good sense of humour and we made lots of jokes whilst planning our stay, our toddler warmed immediately to him and even went to him for a cuddle. He ably helped the couple before us in French and us In English. Top advice, top chap and a big thank you! James and Monika.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We interrupted the lady while she was talking to a friend. With regret she took the time to give very little useful information (opening times and days of monasteries is useful). For waking she couldn’t explain the trails (the “map” is a joke) but recommended a guide. That’s pretty sad for a town selling the monks trails.
For anyone planning to walk note that theres only ONE trail to a monastery (trinity). The rest are reached by roads full of cars.
