S	Sally Spigner on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Day 2 of holiday and one of my sons new-found friends goes missing, Hersonissos Police super helpful. Day 4 of holiday same police arrest same 17yo son for being unable to produce his passport having just left the kebab shop. They deny him the courtesy of attending his hotel to speak to us, his parents, and instead drive him to the station repeatedly questioning 'do you have a problem with the police' before punching him in the face whilst he is cuffed. Denied a phone call, being told that he has to sign a statement written for him in Greek (not our first language), and even when we attend same station to explain our son's autism and ADHD diagnosis insist on keeping him overnight. No charges brought yet it takes the intervention of the British Consulate in Athens to get them to see sense. My first experience of being in Greece, the officer on duty at the front desk was almost apologetic for the attitude of his fellow officer without actually intervening on our behalf to get him to see sense. If awareness training is beyond budget then this force would benefit from employing more officers who are parents themselves. And those two officers who thought it fair game to beat a cuffed child, shame on you.

T	Tim on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Policeman literally told me he was disappointed in me for complaining about their bureaucracy because the law prevents “drunk” people from filling in a form to create a declaration of theft. Moreover, the same policeman told me I should not visit Greece ever again if I don’t like that. This is how they treat tourists in this place.
