Tsengas Fish Tavern - Little Port Of

We had fish on the grill but it was not such a great experience of freshness and sea taste. The grilled cuttlefish was very tasty and fresh though. Vlita sallad was served with boiled potatoes and zucchini - a bit weird. The service was good.

Fairly average run of the mill seafood. Nothing to write home about but okay if you're in the area.

Accidentally found this place on the way back from a day trip. Fantastic spot, directly at a tiny harbour. Unbelievable history of the previous owner, so cute! Very nice and helpful staff, but a bit on the slow (disorganized) side. Even for Greek standards ;) Still, they invited me into their kitchen to see the catch of the day. Love that, when you get so closely involved in their hospitality. Not too crowded, but still well visited. We had fresh fish from the grill. Which they (sadly) already cut open the in the kitchen. It would have been okay, but they cut through the bones.... Therefore very, VERY tricky to share with kids. And maybe unsafe. And it cooled down too fast because of that. Before that: tasty and nicely seasoned. My wife had BBQ lamb chops, which were rather tiny and not as tender as they could be... she wasn't very pleased. The grilled shrimp number 2 were the highlight. Big sized and perfectly prepared shrimps with fabulous taste. We didn't finish the honey trenched cake and brandy, which was their complimentary dessert. Simply too sweet and sticky for a hot day. 4 stars because of the scenery and history. Food and service would be just 3 stars. Did I mention, that they put the food on the table and totally forgot about the drinks (which we ordered at the same time as food). Waiter seemed surprised as we asked for it. Oh, and there is only ONE soft drink on the menu without gas - other than water. Would we go there again? Probably not. Nice and all, yes, but competition is tough and many more taverns to discover. Sorry, no actual food pics this time. It was too chaotic when the dishes arrived and the kids were too hungry already.

Nice view to the old port, with sitting area around the tavern. But the food was not so special as you may expect, especially for this price. The portion is rather normal but smaller than in another tavern. The Greek salat was nothing special too. Very nice they offer you tasty bread and olive oil in the nice bottle which usually costs as everywhere here 1,5 euro per person, and in the end we were offered complentary watermelon. The waitor told that they are finishing this today that's why it's for free, which I am not sure it's a nice thing to sell it))). Anyway it is nice but more touristic place with a bit higher prices.
