★ ★ ★ ★ ★ the land of freedom ,fights for liberating Greece,the Tower KASTRO or rather Castle of Tzannetakis carries the history of a people deeply romantic but Soldiers Soldieri that from Byzantine Empire till the Greek Revolution knew to fight and believe in high ideals like Freedom Equality Brootherhood..Don't see it as a building carries History rather..You must visit it while in Gythio

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Don't know why everybody is so excited about this place. Museum was closed and no signs of it opening.
No sign posting, no opening hours, some windows with broken glass.
Has anybody actually been inside it?
And the lovely walk to the lighthouse (which is fenced off) takes about 3 minutes on a dusty littered track.
Beyond me how this has a four star rating.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice place to go for a walk after food in some of the local tavernas. The only negative thing is that some people go inside this area by car and it might you feel uncomfortable when they are passing around you.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very pretty castle but unfortunately the museum was closed and it had no posted hours. We went for a leisurely walk after stuffing our faces at Saga.
It's beautiful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If Google information is correct it is open Saturday and Sunday 0800 - 1600. Looked interesting and well preserved from outside......Well no, I went back at 8.30am Sunday 14th July 2019 and it's all locked up!.I just met a local who was checking security and it's been closed 6 years.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Another place.. another tower… very interesting building.. but as usual for the town of Githio closed.. when they will understand that these places must be open… maybe because they just want the tourist just to eat at the restaurants and drink coffee.. nothing else.. or maybe not… we will never get an answer for this
