I	Ioannis Makris on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If not the best, one of the best universities in Balkan countries. Infrastructure is notoriously functional, clean and taken care of. Teaching level is high, not the easiest there is, but it pays off eventually if one invests hard work. Research opportunities in most science fields there are, from medicine to polymers to computer science & AI to astrophysics and lasers to economics and philosophy. I am glad I was able to study there and learn from some of the best in their field. Heraklion: Warning: There is hardly any commuting via public transportation to and from most purely residential parts of Heraklion city. Like once in an hour or so from most of them it there is any bus at all (knossos -mastabas - atsalenio - therissos - klazomenes - nea alikarnassos - katsampas - xirokampos) or even none at all from weirdly close to the Heraklion campus regions (Gazi, Gournai, Voutes) . You need to reside really close to the center of the city to reach a frequent bus line by foot. Make appropriate arrangements if you plan to study here.
