β β β β β Unfortunately there are two unfortunate aspects to the Hotel Vanilla. One, the bed was very uncomfortable. I can sleep on pine cones, but my wife is much more sensitive. However, even I found this bed dreadful - some ghastly rubber protector over a 4 inch foam mattress. The second problem is the breakfast. Lactose intolerant? No worries, there's no other option but the milk. Vegetarian? Relax, the fried mushrooms are specially mixed in with the mystery sausage, and no, they won't separate them. Basically about β¬2 worth of soy milk from the supermarket next door and a little consideration would have fixed the food issue for us, which would have meant we'd put up quietly with the bed. But now they've even refused to clean our room as somes petty response to our polite requests.
So, 2 stars it is.
The pool is nice. Shame about the bed and service. I hope the power of reviews proves mightier than their tourist-rush induced arrogance.

β β β β β Clean hotel. A bit dated, could use some updates to the room at the very least a paint job on the walls. Beds were not the most comfortable. Absolute best part of the hotel was the pool. Decent location close to shops and bakery and a short bus ride into the main town.

β β β β β Hotel has seen better days. Cute layout of place; nice area around pool and breakfast area. However, the bathrooms are a challenge... plastic shower curtains are ineffective for a waist high detachable shower rose... water goes everywhere. Got stuck in the bathroom due to old and rusted door mechanism... scary. Lousy WiFi.
It would be great if someone invested in this tired little gem. Lovely and helpful staff

β β β β β The location wasn't great, outside of the main town, but the close to the town was close by. The room was small and the bathroom/shower even smaller. It felt like you had to stand in one corner of the shower to wash so that the shower curtain wouldn't stick to you. The service was lovely though, staff were very friendly and a nice breakfast was provided. The pool was also very nice

β β β β β Location is average, at least close to a bus to the main center. The rooms are adequate, but the shower was very average. Shower curtains clinging to your body. Hard beds. Staff were pleasant and polite. Not the worst experience, not the best. Saving grace was the lovely pool.

β β β β β My friend and i got upgraded to the hotel apartment which was very spacious for the 2 of us. There were 2 single beds in the bedroom area (could be separated by curtain), single bed next to kitchen counter, and additional 2 couches/mattresses in front of the tv. There was also a dining table for 4 and kitchenette with a working sink and mini fridge. The kitchen was oddly equipped with 3 glasses, 2 forks, 2 bottle openers, and nothing else.
We really enjoyed the space, especially coming from a hotel in Athens. In response to some of the travel advisor website pictures we saw and were concerned about, some of them existed in our room. A painting had water damage, curtains nailed into the bathroom window frame had rust, but they weren't items we used and touched, so we were overall happy with the room. The morning receptionist was also really great with accommodating our needs with our tour group and helping is make calls for reservations.
The only thing we didn't enjoy is the road the hotel was located on. The narrow roads were really dusty and the apartments were located at a separate entrance than the reception/ pool area.
I would definitely encourage guests to visit the bakery and AB Market up by the intersection for snacks and water.

β β β β β Squarely a 3 star experience and unless updated will probably not fetch 3 stars. Nice friendly staff. Rooms need a updating yesterday, beds really hard and I like a firm mattress, but this was beyond firm. Also the room smelled a bit musty. We had a room that opens to the pool - which was very nice and provided a pleasant view. If you rented a car, parking is on side streets so plan accordingly. Walking to cafes, bakery, and Ornos beach was great. Its a bit of a hike so not for you if you are sick or elderly; better catch the bus. Would not stay there again, simply due to being outdated and often prefer staying at properties right on the beach. Hope they change that to improve things for their customers.

β β β β β Awful place, AVOID. Service was the worst in 2018. This is not a 3 stars hotel like stated, but really a 1 1/2 one. The blond woman at the counter was rude when I asked for a receipt for our one night stay. Thatβs when I found out that they are a 1 1/2 star hotel, not a 3 stars like they advertise. This place was dirty, mirror in the bathroom was so old that spots were everywhere. Counter was cracked. Second couple had also a very bad experience, their room also way pass itβs time. Breakfast was awful. Even the honey was not fresh!
