★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were welcomed very heartly with a warm meal and some wine. The monks showed us the most important pieces and places of the monastery and did this in a jokingly but precise manner. Every question we asked was answered. Even in the services they showed their hospitality by offering us their seats. The food was delightful and the wine was great. I would like to come here again in the future

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's basically a four star hotel. Everything you want is available. It's also a monastery to visit. The church inside is beuatiful. Lots of gold and other artifacts. There is also a sacristy (museum) which includes a few ancient artifacts as well. If you are going to stay you will have all amenities. Two meals a day, wine, fruit greek coffee. But all under their schedule obviously

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Vatopedi monastery, the Holy Great Monastery of Vatopedi, is an extraordinary place. A one in a lifetime experience. Being a destination available for pilgrimage only, specifically for male pilgrims, since the holy rule of "Abaton" is applied there meaning women are not allowed, makes Vatopedi a very quiet and pleasant place to stay. Highly spiritual, with more than 150+ monks that use the monastery and pray there. You need special permit to enter the Monastery, named "Diamonitirion" and you have to send an email to the Vatopedi holy community to accept you and send you an invitation. Special additional rules apply due to Cov1d pandemic. It is a wonderful place to visit and your soul cleanses from inside out. Many miracles have happened there. And also some unique artifacts are held inside such as the Holy belt of Virgin Mother Mary.
