Vedema, a Luxury Collection Resort, Santorini - Santorini

The resort And the rooms were very beautiful. The bed was comfortable and we enjoyed the beauty of the surroundings. The breakfast was tasty and the little touches from housekeeping very much appreciate it. Our room was breathtaking but we did have a broken toilet that would shoot out water every time when flushed. Needless to say it was very uncomfortable to have the water and the smell all over the bathroom next to the shower and the toilet. The maintenance came out twice but never fixed it and we weren’t offered to be moved to a different room. Also upon checking in the hotel we were told that there is a hotel shuttle that take the guests to one of the beaches for €10. We were also told to either rent a car or take a taxi to explore the different parts of the island. We were interested in going to different villages in the island to see the beauty of the island and spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to get around not to mention that it was very expensive at €40 each way to and from. Imagine our dismay 12 days prior to checking out we find out that the entire time we stayed at the resort the shuttle was able to take us to different parts of the island we wanted to see for €10 and it actually had a schedule we could’ve used. When we expressed our disappointment to the staff at the front desk we were told :” so what, you can still use the shuttle for 2 days” That was extremely disappointing and unnerving.

Vedema was truly fantastic! The service is top notch - from the porter, to the concierge, front desk staff, housekeeping, and wait staff - everyone was beyond polite and made an effort to personalize our stay. Upon check-in, the front desk staff and concierge offer to add you on What's App. I cannot express how convenient it was to be able to just message the hotel 24/7 with any/all requests including arranging a taxi/transfer. One of my primary concerns before visiting Vedema was how we would get around the island. My husband and I aren't particularly comfortable driving in other countries. Vedema has a fleet of hotel branded "transfers" or shuttles/taxis that are ready (within 10-20 minutes) to take you anywhere on the island. I found that the pricing was pretty reasonable as well (usually about $5-10 more than a regular taxi) and far more convenient. For the privacy and location (away from the swarms of tourists in Oia), this trade off was really worth it to us and created a perfect environment for a very relaxing stay! The 3 pools on the property are gorgeous. The little village of Megalochori is super charming as well if you feel like sticking around the hotel for dinner. Couldn't recommend this place enough - beautiful/unique property and fantastic hospitality... everything we could have hoped for an unforgettable anniversary trip!

I am from Alabama and have traveled the world and this is by far the BEST hotel I have ever stayed at. The staff were more than helpful, the rooms were immaculate and clean. The do have parking, they do have 3 pools. Breakfast was actually amazing. It was perfect, literally perfect!! I would stay here a 1000 times. Its just a 10 min ATV ride to anyplace on the island. It doesn't have the best view of the ocean but it makes up with experience easily.

My family and I enjoyed a wonderful stay here for 4 days. The property is large and beautiful, very well kept. The rooms are like little villas, most with your own outside sitting area (great for kids or for lounging). The food (breakfast, room service, bar food), with the exception of the onsite restaurant, was delicious. There are plenty of pools and space to just relax without feeling overcrowded. The staff are exceptional -- they are attentive and they're the ones that made our stay great! Parking, whether self or valet was a breeze. The spa was decent. We loved the location, a small quaint village away from the bustle of the larger tourist areas. There were some issues: We had to ask a couple of times for housekeeping to clean the room. I did specify in my pre-arrival form, but also, I didn't know I needed to iterate housekeeping... it should be standard. Nevertheless, when the housekeeping staff arrive, they were fast and courteous. We stayed in a newer area of the property, so perhaps there are some tweaks needed, but the door handles would come off, the lamps in the room were unhinged and there was an ant problem -- important to alleviate in general, but especially when you have some children who love to play on the floor. Overall, a wonderful stay and we will come again!

Bad location, hotel itself is nice. Staff mostly nice except my husband and I are both gold members and had purchased Marriott gift cards April 2020, supporting Marriott when times were tough and the hotel refused to let us use them despite the fact that we were on our honeymoon and had purchased them specifically for this trip. Further, I called Marriott before we booked the trip and I was told they’d switch payment to the gift cards at the hotel. Are you part of Marriott or not? If not, the rooms should be much cheaper given the location - let’s be honest, a lot of the price tag is for the brand name. I expected to be treated better (perhaps simply fairly since we just wanted to use the money we already spent!) as a gold member or any guest at all.

Our very first visit to Santorini was made extra special with our stay at Vedema. The resort is lovely with spacious and clean rooms. The entire staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a lovely time at the resort. The breakfast assortment was nice, my favorites were the made to order eggs and the freshly squeezed juices! I did appreciate that we were able to communicate with the front desk via WhatsApp. I was able to arrange transfers to Oia and Fira, make dinner reservations, print ferry boarding passes and even book a massage at the spa without ever having to walk to the front desk. Most times, I was somewhere else on the island and Vedema was able to accomodate my request with no delays... best customer service!

Everyone working here is kind, thoughtful, and attentive. Every little detail was taken care of for us and we had a worry-free, lovely honeymoon. Thank you to everyone here! I definitely recommend staying here to anyone traveling to Santorini. Within driving driving distance of 15 minutes to pretty much anywhere else on the island.

I don't think 5 stars is enough! The staff is so nice and all areas of the hotel are wonderful. The room was spacious and clean, and the grounds were beautiful. I had never been to Santorini before, but the experience is exactly what I expected. I took advantage of the post-pandemic prices, and will absolutely come back if I can ever afford it again! The included breakfast was delicious and the shuttle service was very convenient. We stayed as part of a mother/daughter birthday trip and my mom's favorite part was the private jacuzzi. Unfortunately we only stayed 2 nights, so we didn't get to use the pool, but it looked fantastic. I just wish I had more time here! The best part is that the staff left a delicious birthday cake in our room when we were out for the day. It was an amazing experience. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
