The Tower of the Rovians is Frankish, and was later used by the Venetians and then by the Turks where the tower became the residence of the Turk. In 1832 the Rovies were sold by the Turkish owner to the new Apostolos Douma ciflis. Douma repaired and modified the tower to remind more of a 19th century mansion and constructed the extensions below the main tower. In 1930 the then owner Antonis Papadopoulos made other major changes with concrete additions. All these repairs saved the tower, but altered its shape to the extent that it had little to do with the original Frankish tower.
