A piece of the history of the Roman world and not only, Via Egnatia, stands next to the modern Egnatia road waiting for its cleaning and systematic promotion. The path taken by the Apostle Paul, Roman emperors and legions deserves prominence and not oblivion !!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Via Egnatia is a quite well preserved ancient Roman road that's been there for 2 millennia. It's thrilling to walk this road. Note however that it's not suitable for modern vehicles, do not enter with cars. It's better to follow the asphalt road to there and then go for a walk on Via Egnatia. Keep in mind also that the road is made from large stones, that have become slippery in time and it's better to wear hiking shoes.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A beautifully preserved area where the original Roman Road allows you to reminisce of the journey of the apostle Paul from Neapolis to Philippi, where the first conversion to Christianity in Europe took place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Interesting piece of Roman road in a god forgotten area of Kavala.
Best way to access it is via the main road Parking spot and walk down gravel road (use the pin on google maps to find the right entry) or from the city side end of the Roman road. The other side starts at the hospital which is some how troublesome to park.
