You can go inside the exit of the volcano. Interresting experience where toi can see rocks that have burned

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wow, what a place. We choose to taxi up to the drop off point, walk the 400mtrs up to the volcano and then walk back to Vathi. 5km.
The power of the volcano has smoothed the granite rock and lava has flowed miles! Inside the depths of the volcano looking up sends chills, they're multiplying.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An area of unrivalled beauty. Nothing is *active* but plenty of lava rocks and a huge cave if you are brave enough to go inside. An incredible experience I'd say for everyone 6+ and adventurous. Shame to leave a review as I'd hate for this site to become touristy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 25 euros at one of the restaurants will get you a drive to the base of the 25 minute walk. The start makes you think it's gunna be bit hairy, but after a brief rock scramble anyone of Moderate fitness will breeze it in. The views are worth it. We were up & back in just over an hour. Allow an hour & a half accounting for 'Greek Time' with pick ups... from both sides of course ??

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We went on the small hike, it took us 30' to climb and come back. A nice little hike with very rewarding views. The volcano has nothing to see really, it's basically a hole in the rock, but the views along the way are very very beautiful. There are two more hikes from the same starting point as the short volcano hike, bit we didn't have enough time to try them.
